Bring your glow plastic, we may be playing in the dark on the last few holes. Because of potential darkness, there will be no OB today.
Tournament central will be near hole #1.
We'll have a short players meeting prior to the start.
All payouts will be awarded after the round, please stick around when you are done. If you take off, we are not responsible for getting you your money.
Check-in 4:15pm to 5:15pm - Awards Ceremony at 4:30pm

Tomorrow is our final league night and will feature our annual Hi-Lo doubles tournament where we'll be competing for a prize purse of $1,250! Since 2020 has been such a unique year (to put it lightly), we feel as though we should finish the season with a unique format. For tomorrow, we won't be designating a pin format. Each team may choose which basket they would like to play, black, yellow...doesn't matter just as long as the hole is completed per standard best-shot doubles.
As with all of our tournaments, please let us know if you cannot attend as it helps with our planning. Also, it is very important that you check in before 5:15pm as attendance is vital in order to get teams finalized.

Wow, another amazing finish to complete the 2020 league year. Winning the scoring championship by a mere 4 hundredths of a percent, equal to just 1 throw, was Trevor Wander! His 51 eclipsed Marc Nelesen on the last night of the year to earn his first green jacket, congrats!
On the Women's side, Shelby Gilpin turned good play all year long into a 2020 victory, also her first scoring title and white jacket, congrats!

Wow wants more league?? Yes?...well good news, Hi-Lo Doubles will be featured next week! For those who don't know what that is, here's a quick summary - we play a doubles round for cash with people partnered by division. Here are the logistics with more details to come later this week. We'll be featuring a short awards ceremony prior to doubles, so if you'd like to see some of our major award winners accept their prizes - get their early!

1 more week to go! The last week gets interesting on the points front because the final standings will reflect the lowest point round that gets dropped. Even without points dropping, it is pretty clear the who the top 3 will be in D1 - Todd, Jared, & Zach. It's just a matter of who finishes 1/2/3 though Todd has a sizeable lead heading into week 16. The D2 race is entirely too close to call as the top 5 players are within 28 points, led by Keenan. D3 is also close near the top with Mr. Lucas leading by 24 over Mr. Nick V. In D4, it's a two man race between Zack and Corbin to see who finishes on top. Last but not least, actually...most interesting, we have a tie at the top between Bill and Frankie! They can go head to head in week 16 to see who wins.

As for the scoring race, it was likely decided after week 14 when Marc shot a clutch 51 while 2nd and 3rd in the race could only manage 56's. Anything can happen, but Marc should feel comfortable getting his suit size measured and checking to see how he looks in green!

Things have started to tighten up in the points and scoring races as we approach the end of the season. Taking a look at points, Corbin Terpsma has overtaken the top points spot by 1 over Jared Monsma. Both lead division 4 and 1 respectively while Keenan Manifold (D2), Nick Vourlitis (D3) and Bill Kaiser (D5) lead their divisions.
In the scoring race, there appears to be a 4 person race for the green jacket as Zach, Trevor, and Rob make things interesting for Marc Nelesen who has lead since week 6. His lead has shrunk over the past several weeks to a mere half stroke.
Looking at the divisional races, Evan Buit has a slim lead over Shane Robinson in D2, Tasi has a slight advantage over Josh Miller in D3, In D4 Zack Murray has a comfortable lead over Blake Bosma, and in D5, I don't think anyone is going to catch Aaron Pennington.

Prior to arrival tonight, someone from your hole should create a scorecard due to the internet connection issues at the course. Once added to a card, you will see the scorecard on your home Udisc app page. There is no further action needed if you see a league scorecard added on your Udisc app home page, it means someone has already added you. If you see that it’s missing, create a scorecard for your group so you can keep score. All scoring will be done on Udsic! Directions can be found below.

Players with *s by their name did not check-in. If you are on a card with one of these players, it is a good possibility that they will not show up. If this happens, remove them from your scorecard prior to starting the round.

If there are no-shows on your card, you can proceed as long as there are at least 2 players. In the rare case that you are the only player that showed up on your hole, please proceed to the group in front or behind your starting hole and join that group.

Upon completion of the round, we will conduct 1st place playoffs and CTP throw-offs at the pavilion by hole 13, along with payouts.

UDisc Instructions
1. Open the App
2. Select "Events" on the bottom
3. Select "Shore Acres League" under the Aug 18th date
5. Select "Create Scorecard"
6. Select the players that will be playing on your card with you
7. Select "Confirm Players" and then "Confirm Division" once you have selected all players that are playing with you
8. Select your starting hole and press "OK"
9. Last step, select "Create Scorecard" and you are ready to keep score

Hole 15 Free Drop Zone
If your disc lands within the fenced circle surrounding the log piles, proceed to the drop zone with NO penalty stroke.

Side Note: As a reminder, we will be dropping the lowest point total from each player. Due to limitations on the site, you won't see this reflected until week 16 once all rounds have bee posted for the year.

I wanted to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we demo the Udisc app for league play. There were some hiccups in the process but in the end, we ran a successful paperless tournament...very cool! We'll continue to use the app for league play as the preferred scoring method. Results from last night's event can be found in the link below, congrats to our winners Jacob Arvidson, Logan Bush, Dirk Kuipers, Blake Bosma, and Chris Hodge!

There is some functionality that is missing or items that make scoring challenging in the app such as division naming, assigning holes prior to the event, and the check-in process. We've documented these issues and will send feedback.

If you have additional feedback, questions, or suggestions on the Udisc app, please post here or send to Jason Butch so he can provide constructive criticism to the developers. Thanks!

Hello - tonight will be our first divisional tournament playing the 24 hole black layout. Please see details below regarding check-in, Udisc instructions, rules, and divisions.

Black Divisional - July 21st
24 hole shotgun start
Check-in from 4pm to 5pm in the pavilion (Everyone must check-in either in person or on the app)
5pm - hole assignments will be ready, scorecards can be created on the app
Tee off at 5:30pm sharp

UDisc Instructions
1. Open the App
2. Select "Events" on the bottom
3. Select "Shore Acres League" under the July 21st date
4. Select "Check In" along with your corresponding division (D1=MPO; D2=MA1; D3=MA2; D4=MA3; D5=MA4)
5. Select "Create Scorecard"
6. Select the players that will be playing on your card with you
7. Select "Confirm Players" and then "Confirm Division" once you have selcted all players that are playing with you
8. Select your starting hole and press "OK"
9. Last step, select "Create Scorecard" and you are ready to keep score

Mandos
Mandos: Hole #8 and hole #7 will feature Mandos. Your disc must pass to the right of the marked sign. Hole #16 Mando as in past years, your disc must land across the road to be considered in bounds. All missed Mandos proceed to the drop zone with a penalty stroke.

Hole 15 Free Drop Zone
If your disc lands within the fenced circle surrounding the log piles, proceed to the drop zone with NO penalty stroke.

Hello everyone. At the start of the season, we weren't sure if we would be able to host divisional tournaments but with the current state of league, we feel that we can hold 2 divisional tournaments this year. Our first one will be next week! Please read the details below for specifics. We'll be sending some additional reminders and instructions in the coming days.

We will be conducting the event digitally using the Udisc app. This means that 1 person in each group will have to have the application, a Udisc account, and keep score for the group. If you need help with setup, Jason will be available in the pavilion during check-in times to help. The reason we are using the pavilion is because there is reception there which will help get your phone setup for scoring. All rules, format, and additional details will be posted on Disc Golf Scene and on Facebook Monday. There will not be a players meeting.

Also...Yellow Divisional tournament will be held on August 18th.

Greetings everyone!
Exciting news, SADGC was chosen as a beta test group for the, not yet released to the public, new UDisc league functionality. This will allow for the league to track all scores in the UDisc app, syncing scores to the live leaderboard. In order to participate, you must have a UDisc account and download the app. Once in the app, find the SA league under the events section and we recommend you check in prior to arrival (due to internet connectivity near #1). From there, you will be able to set your scorecard and keep live scoring.

After a week off to let scores adjust, we take a look at the points and scoring races here after week #6.

We have a new leader at the top of the points race, a league rookie - Corbin Terpstra. He currently holds the top spot 16 points clear of 2nd Jared Monsma and 49 points clear of 3rd place Nick Oeming.

Keeping with a similar theme, we have a new leader atop the scoring race. Marc Nelesen holds the top spot by a slim margin over a new comer to the top of the leaderboard, Jory Koopman!

Our first week in the new black pins yielded a new course record...as it should because it's the first official round. Marc Nelesen can claim the course record on the 18 hole layout for now as he posted a 50. Meanwhile, Camden Guzman was up to his hot play tricks again as he's the first of 2020 to win multiple weekly best adjusted score titles. His adjusted 47 bested the field.
We'll take a break this week from the scoring results while we let the scores normalize a bit with the new layout and formula ((Yellow avg + Black avg)/2). Next update will be next week. Happy 4th of July!

Hello! I would like to remind everyone that we will be switching to the black pins tomorrow. That means that we will be playing the exact opposite that we played last week, no pins are the same in black/yellow layouts. I've provided a description below in case you would like more details about which basket belongs to which layout. Also, please review the reminders:
- There are no free "rethrows" so if you throw to the wrong basket, you still have to play that shot.
- All OB and Mandos are the same for both layouts.
- Hole 15 wood pile will still be played as casual relief. If your disc goes into the marked circle, please play from the drop zone for safety reasons : no penalty.

Week 3 marks our DGS update with most players (those with at least 3 rounds) marking their first 2020 handicap. Before I get into points and other business, I have to give a shout out to our top two performers from week #3. First off, the only player to shoot in the 40's on the night was Chris "The Tank" Wabeke with a tidy 48, nice work! On the best adjusted score side we had Nick Vourlitis shooting 8 throws better than week 2 with a 52 adjusted to 44.

Meanwhile, Zack Devrow is pacing the field in points with 201 followed by Tyler Wright, Jared Monsma, Todd Tracy, and Dan Gale rounding out the top 5. Lots of familiar faces on the points leaderboard.

74 players braved the threat and eventual rain that occurred on Tuesday night. Not a bad showing for what looked to be poor weather with rain and wind. Overall, the conditions did lead to a .74 increase in average scoring compared to week 1. Trevor continued his torrid start pacing the field again with a 49. Best adjusted score will be computed in week 3 so stay tuned for that!

In keeping with tradition, I present to you the week #1 poem:

It’s been a strange year thus far,
A virus rapidly spreading,
But good news is upon us, hooray!
SA League, Tuesday nights we are heading.

Meet me in Saugatuck in June,
Has never rang truer in my ear,
I have a boating question for Rudy,
Can I swap diet coke for a beer?

83 players did take part,
Throwing plastic, smashing chains,
But one player emerged victorious,
As if emerging from ferocious flames.

Trevor Wander made a statement,
An overt step towards 1st place,
As if a 45, 9 under par wasn’t enough,
His round included a CTP ace!

The SA Green Jacket is no destination,
It is a perilous journey,
It’s no Rose Detroit ballad,
And no weekend at Bernie’s.

You must perform week in, week out,
Posting low scores early and often,
Always knowing and never letting,
The ice in your veins thaw or soften.

What a night we had last night! The amount of members we signed up last night took us by surprise, but everything went smooth - special thanks to Rob and Todd for taking money and handing out the players packs!

Our season typically starts with a preseason which allows us time to consolidate our membership & scoring lists, handle financials, and smooth out the administrative logistics associated with managing 100 players. Please bear with us while we do this on the fly.

You can expect a scoring delay this week while we tend to the aforementioned tasks. Also, I'd like to remind everyone that we won't have points or handicaps computed until week 3 - again due to the lack of preseason. I'll post the week #1 and week #2 scores in the comments section of the league page and on our private Facebook page for scoring transparency. Once we get scores for week #3, I will back fill all scores/points and we'll also start following the overall scoring & point races. Week #7 will be our first glimpse into division based points and scoring.

See below for a few other reminders:

- Please ensure you put first and last names on all scorecards.
- When sending scores via the PDGA app, please send your score as "Share as file" opposed to Share as image. This allows for copy and paste functionality which makes our scoring process much more efficient.
- If you have sent your score digitally, it is not a requirement to submit a paper scorecard.
- If you are not yet a member of our 2020 league Facebook page, please head to the link below and request access. If you were denied access previously, it was because we did not recognize you as an active member...please try again.

There will be committee members available near hole #1 to answer your questions and get groups teeing off on #1. Ask around for one of the fellas – Rob, Ben, Jason, Zach, Dennis, Todd, or Dan

We will be playing the 18-hole yellow basket course. Please refer to the tee signs if there are questions about which basket to play.

If you are new to the league and would like to play with a committee member to learn more about the course or league, we are reserving the last 2 or 3 tee times of the night to serve this purpose. Plan to tee between 5:40pm and 6pm.
