About this league
Fee per round $5
The 2019 points system for Freestates Doubles - CHANGES MADE.
Each player starts each round with 5 points. When the round is finished the TD will average all scores to the nearest .5. If a player's score is lower than the average the difference is added to that players score. So, if the average score for all teams is 56 and a player threw a 53 then 3 points would be added to his/her score giving him 8 points for that event. Visa versa if the average is 56 and a player threw 59 then 3 points would be subtracted giving him/her 2 points. All players get at least 1 point. Bonus points go to the winners (+5) and to anyone who throws an ace (+10). If two or more teams tie for the win, and the win cannot be decided by a playoff due to weather conditions or time restraints, the winning teams will split the first place points evenly among the teams.
2 tie - 2.5 pts per team
3 tie - 1.5 pts per team
4 tie - 1.25 pts per team
5 tie - 1 pt per team
.
The top 8 players from each FSD Division will compete in the Freestate Doubles Championship, Champions Division. Anyone who doesn't make it into the Champions Division, will be welcome to compete at the Finale in the Field Division and can substitute in the final ranked division to represent any league where they played in more than 5 individual weeks.
Finale set up:
The top 4 from each league will flip for a same league partner. If a top 4 contender is not available, the next highest ranked player can substitute. #5-#8 (and the next highest if required) will flip for partners. Any substitutes must be the next highest ranked player on site and must have played in at least 5 weekly events. With this system each league will have 4 teams each representing them. The following leagues have been approved for participation in the finale:
Calvert 1 (sundays), Calvert 2 (Tuesdays), Kinder, Ditto, Whispering Falls, Seneca, Rockburn, Fredrock, and Schumaker. Each league can have 4 pairs representing them for a total of 36 possible teams. Each league is encouraged to bring at least 1 or 2 alternates with their 8 representatives. If a league has an odd number of representatives, they can borrow an alternate from another league, There will be no “Cali” players at the finale.
Example: Calvert #1 -Calvert#4 flip for partners Calvert #1 and Calvert #3 become a team, Calvert #2 and #4 are a separate team. Kinder has #1, #2, and #4 show up, but the #3 player is unavailable. If the #5 player is available, he/she will take the place of the missing player. If #5 is not available, the next available person in ranking will play for their league.
If a person qualifies in multiple leagues, the individual will play for the league they have the most points in. If the person has the same points in both leagues, then they may choose which league they will represent.
The finale will (tentatively) be at Seneca State Park. Anyone who is not participating in the main event as an alternate will have a side competition on holes 18-27
The season will run from April 1st till Sept22nd.
