First off let me say thank you to everyone! When I first started this league I was expecting maybe 10-15 people max interested in playing in a league at NRC. Not only have the number of people showing exceeded my expectations, but the quality of person as well. Every one of you has been exceptional in attitude and sportsmanship, and it has been an honor getting to know each of you.

Great rounds by a lot of people last night! Eddie with the hot round of 47 (-9) and 4 people, Spencer L, Mark G, Bill and Brian shooting a 49 (-7). Rob hit the CTP on the new basket placement on 13 for a Big Jerm Thunderbird.

On to Bag Tags... first and foremost please remember these are to encourage FRIENDLY competition, all said and done it's just a piece of metal. I passed out tags last night in order of final Summer League stamdings to the people who played last night. Anyone else who wants one please contact me and I will start assigning them in numerical order on a first come basis. These numbers will be changing every week depending on play, so just because you weren't there last night doesn't mean you won't have a chance at getting a top 10 spot at sometime! I'll be posting the rules shortly so everyone knows how Bag Tag challenges work, but basically ( on a 1 on 1 challenge) the higher # (say #20) challenges the lower (say #10). The winner of the round gets the lower # tag, with the eventual goal of getting the #1 tag. Challenges CAN NOT be declined or it is an automatic forfeiture and tags exchanged.

Next week is break week, followed by 10 weeks of Fall League starting on 8/22. We will be playing at the Farm in Livonia due to concrete pads being poured that day at NRC on the back 9! I'll post more on that a little later, because we will need as many volunteers as possible to help. Have a great week off everyone! Hey gang, tomorrow is our last night of Summer league, followed by a one week break then starting up Fall league on 8/22. Bring some extra cash, because BAG TAGS ARE IN! And they are sweet! I'm selling them outside of our league, after everyone who wants one gets them, for $15, but because it's YOUR money that went towards them you guys get them for $7! This will help generate some extra money to go towards our league (better CTP discs, end of season prizes, food/drinks etc) and the course upkeep. I'll explain our 'bag tag league challenge' rules tomorrow and post them as well.

Hope everyone had a great time yesterday out at BRATS. Always challenging, but always fun. Looked like there were some great scores as well! After totaling the scorecards I found 1 small error which resulted in a tie for the hot (and I mean HOT) round between Jake B and Eddie with a 57 (-5 according to Terry, I'll see about fixing strokes on discgolfscene), followed closely by Mark G and Jeff with 61s. Dan hit the CTP on hole 6 Blue.
Next week will be the last week of Summer league, taking a 1 week break then starting up the Fall league on Aug 15 running until Oct 17. I'll be ordering the bag tags today so hopefully they'll be in before next Tuesday, but if not you can get one when Fall league starts.
In other news, we are 1 small step closer to finishing the update on the NorthRidge course. Yesterday we moved 3 basket placements... Hole 5 has been moved back 160' taking it from 385' to 545', Hole 13 has been moved back and to the right behind the guardian trees going from 184' to 243', and hole 18 has been moved forward away from the playscape area with only the back tee, the front tee will no longer playable. I also added flags on holes 6, 15 and 17 to make the pins more visible from the tees.

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of getting bag tags to help generate some more $ for the league, wondering how many people would be interested? They will cost me around $5/ ea to order, will be selling for $10 however with the $3 you all paid to enter the league would only cost you $7. All the profits will go towards the league (CTP discs, course supplies etc). I've attached a sample from the company I'm getting them from of what they would probably look like in the pictures on this page. Check it out and let me know so I know how many to initially order.

Great turn out last night, 20 players, one person didn't put in for ace pool so Pool now up to $106! 2 hot rounds go to Bill with a 46 in MPO and Jake W with a 49 in MA2, along with a ton of 50s thrown as well! I'll update the leaderboard soon... I have 2 scores yet to enter, just need to know which Brian threw on the card with Rob, Jeff and Nate? Also some great news for us PDGA players... as of the most current PDGA update yesterday we now have enough propagators on the league to generate ratings!!! Click on the PDGA link at the top of our page and then the 'show round ratings' to see ratings for every round this season. Next week we'll be playing Terry Calhoun's private BRATS course! Address is 5171 Waters Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, Ann Arbor, MI, 48103, tee off at 6, but Terry says it's ok to show up any time after 2 to get some practice in. We'll be playing 9 White and 9 Blue. I had a number of complaints regarding playing from the long tees and tee conditions last night (which as TD I should have walked and evaluated this beforehand), so until the course updates are completed we will play from the short tees. My apologies to everyone for the oversight.
19 people showed last night, 3 did not put in for the Ace pool, so $32 going in making next week's Ace pool $68. Reminder for everyone that the following week, 8/1, we will be playing Terry Calhoun's private BRATS course. Also, our newest member John runs a random draw Doubles league on Thursday evenings, I believe tee off is 5:30, try and make it out if you can! See you all next Tuesday at 6!

First of all I want to thank all who have messaged me about my father in law. He's still day to day, but the doctors are keeping him in an induced coma until he heals more.
For those who were keeping score please text me the final scores for the round on your card and I'll collect the actual cards next league night.
Which segues me to my final note... it was brought to my attention that next Tuesday is July 4th. Doh! Therefore there will be no league that evening and will extend the Summer league to Aug 8 as the final day. I've updated the schedule page, as well as changed the location for Aug 1, we have been invited back by Terry Calhoun to play his private course BRATS in Ann Arbor! Can't wait!!!

What a great night for disc golf last night, eh? Anyone like me want to rethrow the first 4 or 5 holes? LOL
Still some pretty good scores considering... Doug and Jeff with a 55 (-1) and Mark G, Jake B and Spencer right behind with a 56 (E). Mark N won the CTP on 11 for the LE Champion Blizzard Teedevil.

So... voting on an alternate course for next week. I'd like to have the votes in no later than Friday night/Saturday morning to give me time to post and notify everyone in the league. Our options will be from the "free to enter" courses in the area as many of us don't have the yearly passes for the State and Metroparks. Here are our options...

3: Mary Beth Doyle Park
4: Lakeshore (the Ponds)
5: Waterworks

I'll be posting our scores to the PDGA site sometime later today. For those of us playing for ratings I finally got clarification on rating rules. We need 3 propagators to generate a rating for a round, a propagator being a player with a 699+ rating overall (which we have), but they must also have a total of 8 rated rounds before being considered a propagator, so within the next couple weeks we should have qualified players to do that.

The PDGA updates the ratings every few weeks, next updated being June 27. As I've never run a sanctioned league before I'm not sure if they will post "unofficial" ratings prior to that, or for non PDGA members, but we'll soon find out. You can check the page weekly to see though...
Pretty sure we have to play at least 3 rounds before ratings are generated.

Week 1 in the books. Thanks to everyone who came out! 17 players... welcome to our newest players Steve, Spencer, Mark N, Rick and Daryl! Hot round of the night was Mark G with a 49 (-7) followed by Mark W with a 54 (-2). Mark G also won the CTP on hole 10. Ace pool next week is at $109.
I updated the league info, there will also be a point system for the 10 weeks, 2 points for participating and 1 additional point for position in the Top 5 leaderboard for each week (5 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd etc). There will be a prize at the end of the Summer league for the person with the highest points (not sure what yet, cash or merch).
In the next couple weeks I'd like to take a vote to see if most of you would like to travel to a different course for a couple of our nights, and I'll also contact Terry Calhoun to arrange another night at the BRATS private course near the end of the schedule!
Now for some more good news... concrete is in the works in the next week or 2 for the back 9 finally! It will most likely be on a Tuesday, so as soon as I get a date I'll post and if any of you can come out during the day to help that would be great!
