The Final went great!

We had 41 out of 42 players show who had pre-registered. We also had 8 more people show up to play the side doubles round. The day was really nice, great weather and Picnic course 18 holes was the morning round. -11 was the winning score shot by two teams and the full results are posted here:

We did the points payouts and what we decided to do (and probably what we will do in the future) was to pay out everyone in attendance. Even the 41st place got at least a dollar and it went up from there.

After that we had the Final 9 and we played for $20 a hole skins. 10 players total and five teams. I will look up the actual teams I can't remember off the top of my head who was in it. Everything pushed until we got to hole #6 which was safari hole 6 Picnic to 17s basket. Tough hole and Mike Raley basically shot the hole par (3) on his own with a drop in 3, no help from his partner to take the $120 in skins money. 6->17, I challenge you to try that hole on your own sometime. :)

Foz and I had such a good time at the Grand Finale and it carried over the Farmhouse later on with live music and free beer. Good times! and I didn't get to sleep until early in the morning.

We do hope that more will join us for the next Grand Finale and we are looking at ways in which to include more people the next time around. We are planning an open to the public meeting where we will welcome all ideas and I will add Foz's message about that at the end of this post.

Thanks again to all of the players who made this a summer to remember. 798 total players in the first ever MICPS. Like I said at the Finale: We are in this for the long run. We really do want to make this bigger and better every year. I'll end this post with our mission statement.

In hopes of getting feedback and ideas as quickly as possible to help us all moving forward with Mi Leagues and Point Series we want to have a meeting to discuss such ideas and feedback. We will have a local meeting for those who want to meet in-person and try to connect those throughout the state at the same time. There is a Poll online to try and select a date next week that the most participants that want to participate can attend. Everyone else can provide feedback before and after online.

We have posted an event for all of you that missed out on the Grand Finale. Currently there are 30 open spots to play the Picnic Course Doubles on Saturday October 16th. This will run at the same time as the Grand Finale but it will be a separate event with separate payouts. $10 entry, cashless pre-reg. First thirty to let me know they want to play are in.

i mean honestly ie bit my toungue on so much shit that u guys have talked this year but to watch some of the best out here and fucking sponsored players talk all this shit to up and coming players bashing on different courses or even your own state isnt very "pro"ffesional at least to me. i mea ive had shit talked to me at tournaments by some of them. im glad i got to play with a good handfull of eastsiders that were respectable and not douches, but seriously its a game and talkig the way you guys do as pros or even up ad coming pros is not going to help it gain recognition, especially with the attitudes you have. so please do the game a favor and grow up !

i mean yea the whole driving across the state for a doubles round sounds ludacris in all aspects, i feel as the quad points thing for the final is fine, but why not make it singles next year, maybee make brackets for 1 through 100 are on and so on like the divisions and give every one a fair chance that way. i wat to make it clear that not in any way am i saying this is wrong the way it is but i mean im like 80th or 89th and even if i took first and beat what is it 48 people quad points will shoot me up 192 points that probably wouldnt put me in the final 9 so to drive that far for something wuick just doesnt seem, worth it i love the idea ad everything done but thats good money for some of us... and matt we do know pdga rules man, anybody who joins knows about the grace period. some golfers will play play up because they want more for themselves not the same damn thing... i mea i just started last year ive played am4 in most of my tournaments but i beat out 20 odd people to get my birth and played am 3 and beat another 20 some i mean come on challenge yourself right? i dont play against other people i play against myself idc how good you are theres always somebody better, and you can kiss ass for talking shit about ferrell , not every game is perfect ass...i really wish some of you fucking eastsiders would come to whitehal and throw we didnt have one person from the eastside play any of our leagues this year, you may think its shit because u played it years back but lay all 27 now and lets see how a bad ass shoots if your so fucking hot !

If it gets played at Mason County, great, but the same problem will exist with some people from the east side of the state. This isnt the State Championships- people wont make 2 trips across the state in a month....

Ideal is a location like Indy or hudson or mason county where there are multiple course to allow for more golfers

What you call "bullshit", I call following through with your word and abiding by the rules that were set in place. Kinda crazy these days, I know. The nerve of some people to actually do what they say!!!

Perhaps some people thought that the event organizers were not serious about the rules they had in place for registration and thought that they would bend when it was obvious that there was not going to be large registration numbers. Well, I guess those people were wrong...

We are kicking around the idea of offering a spectator division that runs during the grand finale for all of those that didn't register on time and wish to come out and support the MICPS and play the Picnic Course, etc. We will post more details soon. Any suggestions on format/price/prizes? Thanks everyone who registered on time! Top ten in points get in the final nine and play for cash skins.
