Well, it was another fun season of Wednesday Night Lights. Here are some of this season's stats:

- Best score: 39 (-15). Although, it was two strokes down from last years best.

- Average Winning Score: 40.36 or -14.

- Worst Winning Score: 43.

- Score reached the most: 39 was hit 8 times!

- Most 39's: Luke Monyer did it 3 times.

- Highest Attendance: 28 on 11-12-14. A Glow RECORD!

- Average Attendance: 19.45. This is one person and a half higher than last year.

- Lowest Attendance: 12 on 12-24-14. Makes sense, right?

Come one, come ALL! The daylight is plentiful! Our WNLights attendance record was set earlier in the year with 28 of us showing up. Let's beat that tonight! Things to know:

- The Ace Fund is gonna be $56 + however many people show up tonight.

- I will pay out the bounties tonight after leagues. If you don't collect tonight or make arrangements for someone to collect the cash for you I will pay you in the form of prepaid leagues. If you won't be there tonight and you currently own a bounty please call or text me letting me know who will be collecting your bounty. I will not release the cash otherwise.

- We will have 3 CTP's tonight. They will be on #'s 5, 7 and 9. We need two tape measures. If you can have one there that would be great! I'll give it back right after the round.

- Since the total Ace Fund pool for what would have been a Finale is currently at $0, we will not have a Finale. Year's past I would have dipped into the club's account to handle this. Knowing where we stand financially I know dipping into the account is not the right thing to do. Instead I will handle it this way: Everyone who finishes in the Top 12 (ties included) will receive 10 points to begin the WND season. On top of that, I'll also award you 12 points if you finished 1st, 11 points if you finished 2nd, etc. So if you finish in the Top 12 you'll receive anywhere between 22-11 points without having played a WND's round. Sorry to handle it like this but I hope you'll agree that for those of you who qualified, it's better than nothing.

- April has 5 Wednesday's. It would be a shame to let those 5 weeks go to waste. That's potently $200 in the club's pocket, $120-150 for an Ace Fund and straight up good times! I'll let everyone know where we'll be next Wednesday by Sunday night.

Like every other Tuesday night, I found myself preparing for WN Glow. I had to redo the chains in two bags because they weren't tied up. Thanks. Also, three of the lights are missing the velcro. I'm guessing that's because they weren't reattached at the end of league. Again, something that has been asked of you guys for several weeks now. I'm hoping they're in your bag from last week. Should you have the missing velcro please take it with you. If they don't show up, 3 baskets will not be lit up. What a shame!

Don't leave them on the baskets or throw them back in the bag. Please leave the plastic bags within the cage itself. Or you may use it to place between the cage and the flashlight to help aim it more towards the chains.

I will be unable to attend Glow this Wednesday as I have been asked by Parks & Rec to serve on a committee of several user groups in the Anchorage area (disc golf, ultimate, softball, baseball, soccer, basketball, etc) to hopefully bring in a new course for the 2015 season.

During the initial interview I said the only day I'm unavailable is Wednesday. I understand it's tough to find a day during the week that would work for all parties and I have to accept that. With that being said, I will treat these meetings just like I do when someone plays a tourney outside of Alaska and misses a WNDubs event. However, instead of giving myself 10 points like I would if you or I were playing a sanctioned event Outside and were at the 3 previous leagues, I will simply give myself 5 points per league missed due to these meetings. I hope you all find this to be fair. It's not like I'm missing league to twittle my thumbs at home. I'm doing this for the love and growth of the sport.

My name was given to the person in charge of this project by another person within P&R. After a phone interview I received an email asking if I'd like to help with this effort. If you know me, you know I'm down to help (the right cause). So I will.

Although I can't tell you guys where this plot of land is, I can tell you it sits on 95 acres. Forty of which are heavily wooded and would be ours to use. Oh, and it's on the East side of town.

Apparently Mother Nature reads adn.com because ever since that article about the temperature in Anchorage not falling below 0 degrees in 2014, it's been cold! I don't like standing around when it's cold and I know you don't either. These are the things I'd like you to know:

The Ace Fund is back to $0 as it's the 1'st Dubs of the month. Joe won the fund by hitting number 4 (skip) and cashing $74. Mike Miles also aced this month although it was on Christmas Eve and we didn't put into the AF. Instead we all gave him $5 (or at least that was the deal) for $55. He got number 2 (air).

Last week you noticed the lights on the basket itself. Let's keep doing this. The velcro will be attached to the light. Once we pull the course, please reattach them. We have rechargeable batteries and a charger on the way. This will allow us to have fresh flashlights every week. A reminder on setting up the chains. Please stretch the bungee from one side of the basket to the other (not from the chains), not around the pole. I have all the chains in a pattern ready to go. You just need to untie the bungee, hang them, then spread them out. Done.

Does anyone know what happened to the light on #9? I'm not sure why somebody would want to gank a UV flashlight? Perhaps it's for their fluorescent pot leaf poster above their bed? Let's all be watchful of our property. We have 8 battery operated glow sticks to be put on #'s 2, 4, 7.

What's up with these tee boxes? Hopefully they'll get taken care of before game time :-)

Lately some of our members have been randomly kicking down some stuff to be used as CTP's. I think that's really cool and I'd like to encourage everyone who attends to consider donating a DG related item or two. We all have a new disc, even very gently used, or a beanie we won at a tourney or a towel, hat, extra shirt all that stuff. This could be a good opportunity to clean up that DG closet. If you donate to the CTP, you choose the basket.

2015 isn't 2014! I say we bring back the $50 first ace bounty! What's that, all that mean?!? If you get the 1st WNL's ace of '15 you get the pot (possibly split) plus a $50 bonus. (Mike Miles, I'm talking to you buddy! Should you be the one to hit first I will personally give you $50 outta my pocket.)

The Ice Bowl is scheduled for February 15th. That is a Sunday. Plan on it being held at Westchester Lagoon. Look for the tournament page by the end of the week. Once again we've chosen the Food Bank of Alaska as the recipients of our donation.

I'll have everyone checked in by 6:30 since that's the pay by time so we'll draw cards immediately after. I encourage those of you with prepays to use them. Remember, if you don't draw with us, you don't play with us.

-Entry for this league will be your two gifts (one gag gift and one DG related gift) plus $2 towards the club. Please wrap your gift in a cleaver manner. And secretly place them in the back of my vehicle. I will set up shop somewhere else.

-With no money going into the Ace Fund the AF will not be in play ($56 and belongs to Joe S.) We'll all agree that if anyone hits an ace we all give that person $5 (that would make up your entry).

-I heard someone last Wednesday say that if we held league that I'd probably give away Double Points. I chuckled when I heard that because that was part of it all along. I thought it would be nice to do that to keep with the Christmas spirit. So we'll stick with that too.

Well, week 7 is now in the books. I gotta start by saying thanks to everyone for giving me your undivided attention last night. It's really nice when we can get through the announcements without interruption. If you weren't there last night (the 10th), this is what you missed:

12-17-14 is the next Bring Your Own Partner doubles. Remember, you may NOT have a repeat partner, your score will NOT be in the running for the year end score bounty and we will NOT have a Cali or a 6-some at this league. For now, go ahead and find your partner. I will open up registration by making a post on MONDAY. Please respond to that thread (and only that thread) with your partners name.

12-24-14 is Christmas Eve. If we have 12 or more who are interested in attending that day we'll go ahead and hold a league with all rules and bounties in play. IF we have this league, I'm asking everyone to please bring two wrapped gifts: 1 gag gift (please have fun with this) and 1 real disc golf related gift (no more than a $20 value). Please wrap all gifts in a manner where others will not know what's wrapped up... like a disc. All ties at this league will be settled by a throwoff. The winning teams will draw their two gifts first then the next, then the next... Also, secretly place the two gifts in my vehicle AFTER you register. Lastly, do not put your name on the gifts.

New Bounty: This one pays in the form of points, not cash. If you randomly partner up with the same person back-to-back weeks AND you score BETTER than the week before, I will double your points for that week. However, you may NOT pick a partner from week 7 (from the week before a BYOP league). Also, it is YOUR responsibility to notify me (before the end of night). When I placed our last light order they informed me that the Reds are on backorder but they will ship as soon as they're back in stock (with free shipping). I don't personally care for any of the other colors. You may or may not agree. Instead of just waiting for the Reds to come in I decided to purchase some of the 7-color multi lights (I believe it has Red, Blue, Green, some combos of the 3 mentioned colors and I think they have one that goes through all the different combinations).

So, since those cost us more, I have no other choice but to charge more. If you'll remember, the first year we began selling these we charged $5 per pack. The next year we decided to charge $4 for the same pack of two. This year, same $4 per pack.

I will sell these lights individually for $3 each or both for $5. This way if you only want to buy one or two until the Reds come in you can do that. I do have 3 Reds left from last week. Those will get sold to the first person/people to sign up on Wednesday.

Nice enough to where we were able to stick the flashlights into the ground. Now that's warm! Anyways, I questioned if the 28 in attendence was a record. So after doing a little private investigation I'm pretty sure yesterday's 28 is indeed a Wednesday Night Lights RECORD!!! Looking at the last two years, the highest attendence I saw was on 4-3-13 with 26 in da house. This prompts me to offer yet another bounty:

If we have 36 or more in attendance before the end of the year we'll add $50 to the pot to be paid out. Dollas make ya holla!!!

This Wednesday is the first of a few Bring Your Own Partner doubles. Please reply to this thread with you and your partners name. Keep in mind, WE WILL NOT HAVE A CALI OR A 6-SOME! If your partner does not show up, you will not play either. Also, keep in mind that if you don't show up you will cause the last two people who signed up to not be able to play either. I doubt those two will appreciate it. The bounty for the "Season High Scores" WILL NOT BE IN PLAY. That's only for Random Draw Dubs. Wednesday Nights Lights is gonna be HUGE this winter! I can feel it! Twenty of us showed up for a good time. The bars were set right quick and in a hurry by Joe Schacht and Brad Larson with a 39 (-15). And on the same card was Shay Stewart and Greg Rouse with a 46 (-8) for the co-ed bounty. $$$ The progressive ace fund is sitting at a cool Jackson with $50 up for grabs to the first person to hit an ace this league.

A few things:

All the chains and lights that went out came back in. Thank you!

From here on out, lets hang the 4 or 5 chains within 8" of one another in a straight line from the tee to the basket. Obviously, with the flashlight within the same line. This way the flashlight will grab the chains nicely. Spreading them proportionately throughout the basket leaves them looking faint. We had good success with this up at Hilltop. Also, we're gonna look at getting some carabiners to use for hanging the chains. The zip ties are inexpensive but have been breaking upon meeting some of our putts. The carabiners will provide a permanent hold. Please leave the plastic bags within the cage itself.

Please circle your 2's. And please don't circle your 3's. That's confusing.

To the group who started on #4: you had two bags of chains and two flashlights. The bag numbered #5 had two pink whiskers. Those should have gone in the ground for #5's tee. Whoever has those, please bring those with you next week. We'll try again.

Well, unfortunately the baskets still aren't in the ground at the Goon. Plan B was to go to Service High School. However, I don't want to organize anything there if I don't know 100% sure we can play there uninterrupted. I called the Athletic Director for SHS at 10:00 & 1:30 today to see if the land the course uses would be in play. I have yet to receive a response. Sorry to do this but we'll be at HANSHEW MIDDLE SCHOOL tonight. Please pay by 6:30 so we can draw cards by 6:45. Meet by 1's tee.
