About this league
Doubles league with a twist.
The following general guidelines have been established for the 5 weekly events in July, 2014.
WEEK #1 & #2 (July 2nd & 9th): On each of the 18 fairways, ONLY the Worst Lie from the tee will be used. After that initial drive, each throw will be made by alternating team mates (only 1 throw per lie). The second person to throw on a fairway, after the worst drive, will be the person who's drive was not used. Teams then continue to alternate throwers in that "taking turns" manner until the holes are successfully completed.
Q: Who decides what's the worst lie? A: An opposing doubles team in each group will make the determination. In order to expedite the process, the "worst lie" decision must be made before the group leaves the tee pad area.
WEEK #3 & #4 (July 11th & 18th): From the tee pad, each team shall use their Best Lie as determined by themselves. All subsequent throws on that fairway, #2 thru __, each team shall use their Worst Lie. Note: This also includes all made putts. Thus teams cannot assume any "gimme" putts, in-case of unexpected bounce outs, windy conditions, etc.
WEEK #5 (July 25th): The final week of July will be a full on "Worst Lie July" league round. No bail out player friendly rules. It will be a straight up both players throwing their shots then using the worst lie of the two throws (as determined by their opponent).
If an odd number of players are present, the "one man team" must throw two times per tee box, then have their opponent a pick the "worst lie".
Note: UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, this league will be FREE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS. Also, scores will only be posted on the league's "news" tab so as to not effect people's official "scoring stats" recorded on discgolfscene.com.
This should be a fun way to blow off some steam & laugh a little all at the same time.
