Well, that's it! Tonight was the last night of the 2014 doubles league season. Congratulations to Mitchell Frederickson, our season points leader!

The Ace Pool ended for the year at $80. There was a short discussion after league tonight about what to do with the remainder. The most popular idea was to roll it over to next year. If you have any thoughts on the matter, reply to this post, or bring it up at the next DFOK meeting.

I will not be able to attend league this week, so I am looking for someone to run things Tuesday night. It is an early start (5:15), so I am not expecting a big crowd. The doubles payout chart is posted on this league page under "pictures". Otherwise, if everyone brings ones to pay with, and someone gets the scores to me, it should be a pretty easy gig!

Congrats to Mitch Frederickson, who just broke 300 points for the season. If I remember right, Kevin Clouse is the only other person to break 300 points in doubles league, which he did during the 2013 season. Also, with JP out for the season for surgery, it looks like Mitch will be the only one this season to hit 300!

If you are the "Cali" player during doubles league (i.e. you are playing without partner), this is how it's done:

1. You get to re-throw one shot per hole, from the same lie, without penalty (drive, approach, or putt).

2. After you make your repeat throw, you may decide to keep your original shot, or your re-throw. You are NOT forced to keep the re-throw.

3. If you ACE on a re-thrown drive, the ace counts, both for your score and for winning the Ace Fund.

4. In a sudden death playoff, the Cali player continues to get one re-throw per hole.

5. In a "CTP" (Closest to Pin) playoff, the Cali player gets two throws.

6. These rules may be changed at an official DFOK Club Meeting.

7. I will also consider changing these rules is there is a consensus among active league players.

I have been playing disc golf in all weather for 20 years, and that is the strongest sustained wind I have ever played in! I threw my 175 Boss righty-backhand on hole 17. Found it this morning 400 feet from the tee pad, 250 feet right of the pin in the south end of the parking lot near the boat ramp, more than halfway to the swim beach!
