Looking for potential volunteers to help repair Falling Waters disc golf course. I haven't spoken to them yet about it, but I wanted an idea of who would help before I stuck my neck out there. This could be a prime opportunity to help design/shape/mold a course to be what you've been looking for. Let me know.

Attention all club members! There will be a tournament to end last year (2013). We are shooting for 02/08 with tournament play as follows:

9:00 A.M. - Mandatory Club Meeting at the #1 Basket at FSU
9:30 A.M. - Tee off for (18) holes @ FSU
11:00 A.M. - Tee off for (18) holes @ Joe Moody
12:30 P.M. - Break for lunch (not provided)
1:30 P.M. - Tee off for (18) holes @ Under the Oaks
- Ending ceremony

(Times are subject to change depending on round time)

For this tournament, you are not required to participate at all three courses. Bag tags will be swapped at the end of each course. Scores will carry over from course to course. So if you are +1 at FSU, -2 at Moody, & -3 at UTO; your total score would be -4 for the day. You can only be eligible for prizes if you currently hold a 2013 bag tag & participate in all 3 events, this includes the meeting!

We are going out with a bang for this tournament to end the 2013 year (even though its a little late). We are also taking this opportunity to discuss the new club format and what is to come for the club in 2014. There are lots of things upcoming for the Chain Gang and I hope to see each and every player participate at some point in the day 02/08.

As of tonight I am stepping down a little bit and will no longer be full force active within the club. I may see you guys on the course from time to time, but probably not as often as I have been.

As far as club events, I will no longer be organizing bag tag challenges or club vs club events. It was a valiant effort, but our clubs activity has limited us on what we can arrange.

So until further notice, for any club information on events or activities please contact Tim Ouimet or Scott Ramsey.

In an effort to grow our club we have been trying to host events with other clubs within our region. To do this, we need to know what members we can definitely count on to be at these events. I would consider these people our "active" members. If you would like to always be considered for these events, please let me know ([email redacted]). The events will still be posted as normal, but your spot will not be held unless you are an "active" member. As always we want everyone to play at every event, but in an attempt to plan these events, we need to know a baseline of people that we know will be there. I realize that not everyone can always attend the events, but we need to know who our dedicated/reliable members are. Let me know if you would like to be considered as an "active" member.

We had a great time today at the Bear. I believe we had...Mike O, Kirk, Turbo Tim, Chris W. (Ashley & Jake), Darryl, Daniel, Jim, Debbie, myself and our newest member Ralph Meyer. If I am leaving anyone out I apologize. Pro/course designer Mike Sidebottom had a clinic for the community at Compass Lake and after showing them the basics on disc golf we paired up into doubles and played 18. I believe everyone had a wonderful time. As always if you haven't played the bear you really need to get up there.
We have our next BTC this next Saturday. Stayed tune for all the details this week.

Mixing things up a bit. This Saturday we are doing an Ace Race for our monthly challenge. Here are the proposed rules:

Ace Race Rules

The rules for an Ace Race are different from regular play. Below are my variations of the “official” DiscCraft Ace Race Rules. Come out and Ace Race for the lowest Tag.

Local Course Modifications
 We will be making the holes shorter. After all, the point is to encourage aces.
 Each player may carry only Two discs onto the Ace Race course.
 Each player will have two throws per hole for a total of 18 holes per round.
 The club Ace Pot is not eligible to be won during this event.

POINTS WILL BE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS:
• 1 point for contact with basket and under metal.
• 3 points for contact with chains and top of basket.
• 7 points for ace.

Format:
Two rounds of 9 , Two throws per player per hole. Both throws scored.

Course Layout:
Holes are generally shortened to between 100 and 250 feet.

Rules of Play:
Players are required to use the two discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player can substitute a new disc. Only two throws per player per hole. Groups of up to eight are generally acceptable, depending on course, time of day and TD discretion.

Each player should have their own scorecard and mark “7” for aces and “1” or “3” for holes on which they hit metal.

After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.

The player with the highest score after the second round is declared the winner. In case of ties, a closest to the pin contest is then held to determine the winner.

Hey Golfers!



We want to thank all of you who came out to Joe Moody this past Saturday to end our 2012 Bag Tag Challenge year. If you missed our tournament you missed a great event. We recognized our top ten players plus we now have something for the PCDGC member with the most scores posted on our Panama City Chain Gang Bag Tag Challenge 2013. Check out the leaders from Saturday's tournament on our Leaderboard for the 2012 Bag Tag Challenge. Erik K. had over twenty matches recorded on our Leaderboard for 2012. He played Saturday and was recognized for getting out there and sending in his scores throughout the year. Will you be our next player with the most recorded matches?? Get started and we'll find out.

We have just about sold out of 2013 tags before we have to make another order so you may want to let us know and get your membership dues ($12) in before we make the order.

We also now have Panama City Disc Golf Club t-shirts ($15). We gave some out at the tournament on Saturday and have started taking orders for our next request. The shirts look great and have even been noticed at Ferry Park when Chris W. played over there this past weekend.

ANother thing we are adding this year is a club Ace Pot. This pot will continue to increase until someone gets an ace. Turbo Tim should have details soon. You can check the amount in the pot on the Panama City Chain Gang Bag Tag Challenge 2013, on discgolfscene.com. If you don't have a profile on discgolfscene we highly recommend you create one. It's easy, free, and not to mention has a ton of news, tournaments, pictures, scores, profiles, and other disc golf goodies.
