I understand your point Josh, however the extremes are now where close to what we were experiencing this date last year. --> http://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/2011-2012_Flint_Hills_Bag_Tag_League/leaderboards By Feb. last year we were up to tag #101 & had more extreme gaps. I'm sure we'll see alot more of this year's tags back in rotation when we go back to warm Wednesday nights.

With that said though, it kind of depends on what each person expects to get out of this league. Personally, I believe it's a great tool for building a greater local disc golf community. Not all players are going to be able to play every time we have a league round. However many of those players will be able to help us design & build more courses, help host events, help keep our courses clean & maintained, etc.

Very valid points. Happy to see the disc golf community moving upward and onward by leaps and bounds. But it's a bit of sulky feeling walking around with a couple of #40+ tags hanging off your bag. Just saying, I'm about to go Challenge mode and get some of these lower tags back in the mix, or revert to a Casual Tag and avoid the fuss :P

Josh, Please don't take my comments to be entirely directed at you. As you've seen, each year we have a new crop of players that need to hear about this "flaw" in bag tag leagues. Especially considering it may not actually be a flaw because it's present in every bag tag league out there... Yes, it may be more apparent in our league because of our nomadic student & military population, but it's not unique to our league. To all who participate, please just look at is a microcosum of life in that you never know what opputunities the next day will bring... Or like a bite of swiss cheese in that you never know how many & how big the holes will be, but you learn to accept there will be holes. Thanks again to all who are reagular & steady participants, plus we look forward to the return (when possible) of all who are not.

I would point out that playing half as often, as we do during winter (and on weekends, too) makes it at least twice as likely that people will be unable to defend their tags due to other conflicts. I've been out of town for work-related stuff the past two league rounds. So therefore it's -- unfortunately -- been 4 weeks since I last played a tag round. And it will be another two weeks until I get the chance to do so! Definitely not what I would prefer....

I understand that it's difficult to find time to make rounds, especially during these winter months. I'm more or less concerned with the players that I've never met or have only seen at one league round back in August/September and then disappear. Okay, haha, done venting my frustrations. I should know that a mere Tag # does not define my disc golf game and that I should just enjoy the fun competition that the game brings. Rant over :P
