The park is now closing at 8:00 which gives us a little more flexibility with the last group heading out. I will have the last group head out around 5:15 unless you contact me the day of or prior to the day. The last group could most likelly go out at 5:30 if need be and still make it out of the park before 8:00. In that case we will do everything at Marco's afterwards. Otherwise if time is on our side I will do payouts and tag distribution in the parking lot. Those interested can head to Marco's afterwards.

On rainy days the park might not be open until 8:00. Unless they have a function, when the weather is bad they will close early. Last night it was 6:00. In those situations we will meet at Marco's and trickle off hole 8. Alway check at the gate about closing time when the weather is questionable. I will try to contact the park on really wet days and post here with the word. I will not always know prior to league if they are staying open. Sometimes I will find out when I'm pulling in (btw 4:00 and 4:30). Thanks for your understanding.

Hope the weather is dry next week and the golfers are out in large numbers!

We ended up playing reg. course except for holes 10,11,13 and 14 were replaced by the Alpha-loop. Since we had been running late the previous 2 weeks I decided the park staff needed a break. We did finish on time, last group in by 7:10 and the cars were moving towards the gate by 7:25. Great job crew!!!

As previously posted next week is going to be the swan song for the 2011 Wick HC season. We will be having a post league party at Marco's starting sometime btw 7:00-30. If you are coming to the party but not to league, please post here so I know how much food to pre-order. As you can see the tags were pretty messed up last night. By the time I started doing tags my paper was really wet and I had a really hard time reading it. I had thought Ben shot of 67 and Dustin over 73 (eventhough he was in my group and part of my brain knew he shot 72, I guess not the part doing tags. My apologies to Ben and Dustin and anyone else who might have received the wrong tag.

After going to the source it was determined that Ben K experimented on several occasions when his round was in the shtter. He thought it was only a couple of times, but it seems to me that it might have been a few more. To rectify this oversight on Bens part, any score over 70 on the short course (which turned out to be 4) was dropped from his HC. This reduced his HC 3 strokes, therefore 3 strokes were also taken off his HC on the 3 other layouts.

If Ben feels his winning last week was in error he has the option of donating the $40 to the course fund or next weeks payout. His 1st place finish this week in my mind was fair and square.

Temps were in the high 80's low 90's not too hot for July. We had 16 players all playing for $ and 100+ runners doing the X-country thing. Dustin and I were over run on hole 7 for about a 5+ minute wait.

We ended up playing the full 22 and finished in plenty of time, so next week can even try the alt. 22 or some strange configuration (Grgr choice)

We tried out some new cards tonight, different material (not laminated) they seemed to work great in the rain. The only thing that might be a problem is using them over and over again. They didn't erase as clean as the laminated cards. We will continue to test them over the next few leagues and see how they hold up.
