Scott took it to the Kincaid Blues in Week 10, shooting a bogey-free -6 to take down A Pool. Also in A Pool, Dan Allen and Anthony Purpero made their return to league after brief sabbaticals, both matching Scott's birdie total, but throwing in a few bogeys to finish -4 and -3 respectively.

In B Pool, Naz keep things even-keeled to shoot take B Pool at E, edging Allen Black by 4 strokes.

Ryder Skaaren took down C Pool, shooting a solid +3, edging Jacob Kinder by 5 strokes.

New to League this season - we are crowning an overall league points winner. The winner this season is (drumroll)... BRIAN CASSIDY! Congrats to Brian! He will receive an engraved mini to show off his accomplishment for many league nights to come.

League points are based on the number of competitors beaten on a week by week basis - you earn 2.5 pts per person you beat each week. A competitors point total is listed on the PDGA event page and accumulates over the course of the league season. Brian finished the league with 272.5 points, edging me at 270.0 and Naz Munoz at 210. If you want your very own mini next season - get out to as many league nights as you can!

Week 8:
Cory Adams and Brian Cassidy took down their respective pools (B and A) shooting -6 at Kincaid Ams to Yellows on a breezy but beautiful summer night. They both did it by staying bogey free. Scott Haviland and Sal DelReal continued their weekly C pool battle with Scott coming out on top by 4 strokes, finishing +7.

Most impressive birdie award goes to Mike B for taking a 2 on hole 6 which played as the 3rd hardest hole on the day. He also bagged the only birdie on hole 18 which was showing its fangs in a strong tailwind. Hole 1 played tough for the same reason - a big ol headwind!

Hole 14 was vicious in the wind, making for some awesome score separation on the day. There were 4 birdies, 6 pars, 3 bogeys, and 2 triples or worse. Yikes!

Week 9:
Isaiah Gall set the new PC standard for this league season, carding an impressive bogey free -10, and taking home the 1st place B Pool pot. My magic 8 ball hints that this will likely be his first 1000+ rated round after all league rounds are compiled and ratings become official. Murphy Dykstra also stayed bogey free, carding a -9 to take home the A Pool pot. In C Pool, Jake Ratliff took the prize shooting E. Also in A Pool, Frank Costales was steady, catching a lone bogey on hole 4 to take 2nd at -8. Naz Munoz and Adam Klein tied for 4th overall and 2nd in B pool at -5.

Adam Klein had the longest birdie streak on the day, nabbing each of holes 8 through 12. Shoutouts to Dave Sramek and Murphy Dykstra for nabbing the lone birdies on hole 7 which played as the 3rd hardest hole on the day (after 4 and 15 which had zero birdies each).

Next Tuesday will be our 10th and final league night of this season. We'll be back at Kincaid playing Am Pads to Blue Baskets. Hope to see you out there!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, future fathers, and people with fathers.

League Emperor James continues his 3 week reign of terror atop the overall score standings taking first in A pool and tied for first overall. He was also the only player to birdie the big right to left hyzer and thru 43.267 trees hole 7 last week. Nice disc ya got there, it'd be a shame if something happened to it. Sramek was the lone A pool contender and took second place easy. He had a perfect start with 3 birdies in a row, but wasn't able to snag the -18 he needed to bring down the big dog.

Mr. Black was one of the usual suspects in B pool to shoot well. He took down B bool by a few strokes and got the lefty ace on 17 to tie up James for overall best score. I bring up it was a lefty ace cuz I'm salty and feel like it would have been more impressive if he threw with his other arm like I do. But dude got paid $127! Isaiah took second and strung up a bunch of birdies, but judging by the grey shading on the scorecard, there are some trees with deep dents in their bark.

Mr, DelReal continues to show well in C pool and took first over S. Haviland by 2 strokes. DelReal had a rollercoaster of a round but had 4 birdies. Scott found some solid play in the late back holes 13-18, but it wasn't enough to catch Sal.

The best thing going out there was hole 9. As a group ya'll were .67 strokes under par with 8 birdies and no bogeys. Hole 3 also was bogey free. Ignoring hole 4 as a par 3, hole 15 was the hardest hole. At .67 strokes over par and zero birdies, it held it's own and kept people humble.

We're at Kincaid Tuesday, get your money into James and let's hope this weather stays around a few more days. Also there's still some registration spots for Homer's Moose Pretzel. Fantastic course that will challenge your all around game.

I was able to repeat as A Pool winner this week with a -5. Dan Allen took second in A Pool with -2, carding an impressive eagle on hole 11.

Killian continued his reign of terror in B Pool with a -3. Bee Yang and Mike Chung took 2nd and 3rd in B pool with -1 and +1 rounds respectively. So far this league, Killian taken first or tied for first in B Pool every week that he's played (he missed weeks 2 and 3). With today's PDGA ratings update, Killian will be moving back into A Pool, so we're set to see some new B Pool winners in the final 4 weeks. Congrats to Killian on his reign and ratings bump!

Jacob Kinder took the W in C Pool at +5, besting Sal DelReal by 3 strokes.

Hole 2 played the hardest in week 6, seeing an even split of pars and bogeys on the day. Holes 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 18 also had zero birdies on the day. Hole 4 played the most under par on the day, averaging 0.29 strokes under par.

Week 5 recap:
We had a great B Pool showing last week with 10 competitors! Killian and Rod came out on top in B pool shooting -8 and taking home $18.50 each. Both of them kept clean cards (no bogeys). Naz and Allen shot -5 and -4 to to collect 3rd and 4th place payouts in B Pool.

In Pool C, Scott took the W in a duel with Sal with a +7. In Pool A, I carded a -9 to take down my first solo W of the season, earning a bit of redemption for my last place A Pool finish at PC a few weeks ago.

In terms of holes, #4 played the hardest, with zero birdies on the day and only 5/15 players carding pars. It averaged 1.13 strokes over par on the day. Hole 7 also played 0.47 strokes over par on the day with zero birdies. Holes 8 and 12 were the easiest, averaging 0.53 strokes below par. Shoutouts to Naz and Keegan who were the only people to birdie hole 15 - the rarest birdies on the day.

Happy Memorial Day, disc golfers! League is on for tomorrow at 6:15pm.

Our schedule has us at Davis tomorrow; however, there are a couple camp sites adjacent to holes 6 and 7 which could affect play. If we do play at Davis, we'll be instituting casual OB around the camps to avoid having to enter the camps. Alternatively, we can skip Davis this week and move the league round to PC. Please reply below (or shoot me an email/text) if you'd prefer to stay at Davis or move to PC. I'll post an update here tomorrow morning by 10am with course confirmation.

If you want to play on an early or late card, let me know when you'd like to play and who will be on your card (either via text or reply below) . If I don't hear from you and you're signed up, I'll assume you're starting at 6:15pm and will put you on a random card.

So far I know of one card starting at 4:30pm. I have one additional request for a tee time starting at 5pm but so far that's a lone golfer.

Nice day to sling plastic at the trees, and hitting them, a lot.

Thompson took down the overall best score and A pool at -9, shooting just shy of 1,000 rated. Costales was the only player in the field to go bogey free and took second in A pool with his -6. Gall had the second best score in the field with his -8 and won B pool, shooting 83 points above his rating in the process. Klein rolled into second with his fancy cart and -5. C pool had the tightest race of all the pools with S. Haviland besting Del Real by 1 stroke to win C pool.

As a group A pool shot 929 rated which was just over 9 points below their collective rating. B pool was 907 rated, which was 12.5 points above their rating, and C pool slugged out a 739 group rating, which was 23 points worst than they are rated.

Points race! Cassidy leads the league at 145 points and Allen is second place in A pool at 107.5. Stepp is 2nd overall with 110 and 1st place in B pool. Briseno is top ten overall with 72.5, and second in B pool. Del Real tops out C pool with his 32.5, leading Rhine (27.5) and Dela Cruz (25).

Hole 9 was our best shot Tuesday giving us .47 strokes under par and 10 birdies. Hole 11 was nice to us as well at .42 strokes under par and 8 birdies. Hole 4 is listed as a par 3 and thus was our hardest hole in relation to par at .95 strokes over par and zero birdies. Shoutout to Severson who was the sole birdie on hole 15.

We will be at Girdwood next Tuesday in prep for NADGT/Forest Fling. Starting times are flexible, so let James know if you can play earlier/later and we'll try and get you a card.

Cassidy was unelected king of the week. Shooting the first 1,000 rated round of our young season with his -14. He was also the sole impediment to MSDGC sweeping all three pools this week. Way to sling plastic Mr. Cassidy. Leeds led from behind getting second place with his still fantastic -12.

Mr. Foley snagged top spot in B pool with -8, out stepping Rod by one stroke.

And TALL JON RHINE led the 9 person deep C pool with a solid -3. Danjin came up short by one stroke and took second.

Hole 11 was our favorite this week. I don't remember which shot that is, but it gave me and 14 others birdies. I say bravo #11. We shot .48 strokes under par on it.

No really tough baskets this week, but we shot .36 over par on 1 and 4. Cassidy and Costales were the only birdies on 1, and Robinson got the sole birdie on 4. Way to be sneaky James.

Next week we'll have leagues at Peter's Creek. Hoping the MSDGC crew makes the short hop over and joins us another week.

Shoutout to Del Real for outshooting his rating by 145 points! Far exceeding any winter rating or score at the goon. I guess he just needed to get out of the snow. He took down C pool handily.

A pool was a 3 player split with Robinson, Sramek, and Cassidy at -5.

Holes 4 and 13 played the easiest at .56 strokes under par and 10 birdies on each. Hole 10 and 15 played the hardest on the field at .44 strokes over par with no birdies on 10, and Sramek getting the only birdie on 15.

It was nice to see all the new faces coming out now that Spring has arrived.

Welcome back to ADGA leagues! This summer we'll be bouncing around to different courses in Anchorage, Wasilla, Girdwood, and Chugiak to help folks prepare ahead of local tournaments and to make up a lack of variety this winter. For the first week, starting next Tuesday (April 30th), we'll be at Kincaid playing short pads to gold baskets.

As in years past, summer singles league is on Tuesday nights. We'll be aiming to start at 6:15pm. If 6:15pm is too early or too late for you, reach out to Dan or I and we'll try set up early/late card(s) so that you can play! If we don't hear from anyone, you can count on shotgun starts teeing off at 6:15pm. Remember to read the league overview section if you have any questions.
