My review may be biased as Ive been the course co-director for the past year. I love this course. Tom and I have given the course a big make over. Correcting years of erosion issues. Building new bridges on 1, 8, 13 and 18. Consistent mowing of the fairways, removing dead trees on the fairway or edges to keep the hole safer for it's users, mulching transitions and some baskets. Elevated pin on 6 with hard scapes. Added steps on 6,8 and 11 most fairways have been cleaned of deadfall (always more to do here :( ) and our biggest project making a 70' + plus retaining wall around the right side of 8's basket making the green flat for better and safer footing. Leveling off the front and sides of all tee pads to make for safer footing and so much more. As everyone else said. It's short but technical. We will be making some long pads in the future to catch up with how the avg distance people are now throwing. New baskets coming in November 22. This course is a gem and is magical with all the beauty and hard work put into the course!

I love this course. The first few holes are good use of the trees around the outside of a playground but you soon get into an older forest with high canopies. The fairways are wide enough to try and throw hard, but narrow enough to hit unexpected trees. There is elevation change so you can feel like a beast downhill and a mouse uphill.
Basically the course has everything except a lake.

Excellent course! Great for all skill levels. Very forested, however with minimal undergrowth so finding discs is not difficult. Hole distances vary, but stay generally in the medium range with most ranging from 250-300ft. Very professionally designed with good variety and maintenance. One of the best I have ever played around the country!

As course director, my review may be somewhat biased. Course opened January 2012 and was used for the Advanced Am Men (MA1) at the 2012 PDGA World's. Although a relatively short course, it is wooded and technical with a par of 57; the 281 MA1 players during the World's average 55.85; the course surprised many. If you hit your lines there is a birdie on every hole, few had a lot of success. The three short par 4 holes (380', 318', and 371') all averaged about 4.

The course is in a neat (almost) eerie historical setting of the ruins of a mid 1800's plantation. The park is probably one of the safest one in Charlotte and nestled into a suburban setting.

A good one-day two courser--play a round (and be humbled) at Renny Gold and a more relaxing round at Plantation Ruins (Winget Park); they are about 8 miles apart. I almost assure you that you will revisit Winget the next time you are in Charlotte for a fun, relaxing experience.
