Nice course. Easy to follow with good signs at each tee. Would play again when in area.

The course is overall a good experience. Little-no water. Hole 10/11/15 require a good Back Hand shot which I enjoy. Cleaner than most of the other courses near by.

I have only played this course a couple of times had it was in development at that point, only nine holes were complete. I do feel that good use of a very small, wooded area was being made and I look forward to returning to play 18 holes.

Loved this course. Mostly wooded, a lot like my home course of Goldenrod. Very well kept course, lots of good forehand shots worked well. Great signs and rocks pointing to the next pins - we didn't get lost at all. Nice park in Saginaw, worth the effort if you are in the area.

It's alright I can understand why people like it no reason not to play it. Has some longer holes but there are still plenty of bridie chances. Nice tee signs and tee pads trash cans on alot of holes. Wish they would have worked the pond by 5 &6 into the course

Nice course! Some open holes and the wooded holes are great as most are not too narrow.

This was the first course I ever played on 3 years ago and this is my favorite course to play!!

Well Maintained course. Very challenging. I absolutely hate basket 2!!! I feel, as an amateur that this basket should be a par 4. I never know how I'm going to score here. This course will beat you up!!! There are a few dead trees in several fairways that I feel should be cut down.

Had fun here! Adding short tees and a little bit better signage would make this great.

I'm impressed by the amount of work put in this course. Interesting, moderately technical holes, with great signage. Was not a fan of the clientele on the course or how mucky the back nine were, but all in all a nice course.

Good course, Some of the tee markers arent up so it tough to find the next hole if you're a first time visitor. Very challenging with hidden tees and some tight wooded fairways. Some holes are wide open though which gives it a decent variety.

This course in and of itself is an A- but there is something that rubs me and many others that I've talked to the wrong way that no one is able to put there finger on. Its certainly lacking in ANY of the fun factor that all so important. I don't know why. I almost never hear anyone laughing or see anyone smiling while I'm there.

An excellent course. Wickes will test every part of your game, show you exactly what you excel at and what you need to work on. If your game is perfect, heck go for a new course record.

Good challenge, defined fairways, nice variety. Good signs and tee pads.

Favorite course in the area. Difficult, with a little bit of everything for all types of players.

Nice course, Challenging holes, didnt care for 6 needs a path cleared to the basket instead of a pile of sticks and such. Really enjoyed the course will defiantly make it out to this course again

Challenges you throughout the whole course. Bring your A game

Wickes Woods is a relatively new course that was just completed last summer (there are 18 holes now). There is a good variety of wooded and open holes, as well as slight elevation changes. Seemed to be slightly biased towards forehand/lefties on a lot of holes, but that just makes it all the more challenging.
While not entirely accurate, signs at every tee give the distance and a basic idea of how the hole is layed out. The designers also did an excellent job directing players to the next hol ...

Love the course! The people that made it happen did a great job!

Overall Wicks Woods is a very solid, very long course. A course that's over 7000 feet long is huge! But it's still enjoyable the entire time. This course is very challenging, and offers many different obstacles including, thick woods, elevation, seasonal water hazards. You also get a mix of wide open long holes, and even small open and closed holes.
Over the months the park has turned this course into a masterpiece. For $70,000+ dollars I would hope so lol they have added little thing and ta ...

This Course may be the new "Gold Standard" for Ya'lls Area.
Once the course is "Broke in" a lil. I look forward to a few alternate Pins and "Blue / Pro" Tee pads. Hole 18 comes to mind for Both. I see 18 having a Pro Pad and an Alternate pin placement of maybe another 100 feet out towards the opening and becoming a Par 5 Tournament courses that can change layouts (even slightly) in between rounds keep from stagnating. If used properly it can speed play in shorter Day months also.

Good variety of shots. Great place to come practice and hone in on some of your throws. Needs some benches though, there is no where to sit until you get to hole 17.

Hometown course. Been playing since they started here and I've got to say I love it. Very challenging and a lot of tricky distance based holes. If I had to change anything about it I would change what my friends and I call the "fishhook" hole, or hole 6. Also hole 11 and 12 need some work still. Overall great course though. I have been playing 5-6 days a week @ Wickes and went to the Pines a couple days ago and it felt very easy compared to before playing the crap out of Wickes. I went 3 consecu ...

Great course for being brand new. Fantastically well groomed, good layout (few holes could use some tweeking), and well balanced. Needs a little loving - signs (most are there, only 5-6 holes don't have them), trash cans, benches, etc. made available on every hole. Additionally, the course needs to be trimmed and have some of the smaller, less critical trees removed. There are a few holes where there is seemingly more luck involved than skill. Once these things are fixed, it will be an excellent course.

This will be one of the nicest courses this side of the state! Give it some time to thin itself out, and I think it will give some of the better courses on the West side of Michigan a run for its money

Love this course! It's been improved so much since it first got put in. Still a few trees on a couple of holes that could be removed, though. Definitely looking great!

very excellent course.the front holes are easy but 10-18 can really hurt you...very tight fairways on some holes...worth the trip to play
-4 votes Sean Willman › January 25, 2012
Clearly lots of potential. Hole 3 was a highlight, and is in my opinion the most complete hole. I hope there's still lots of clearing out of the trees around the baskets. Really aren't any clear putting lanes on lots of the holes. And what's the affinity for the tees behind trees? Hole 6 is tough enough to go hard left through woods/over trees to a basket on a big mound without having a tree 10 feet in front of the tee. Honestly was not the most enjoyable experience having to pitch and pray so ...

Interesting layout. It feels and plays like a cross between the loop in freeland and memorial park in Frankenmuth. We got turned around a couple of times, but had a good time thru #11. Arms will be wore out when this course is finished. Big.

definantly lefty friendly or forehand friendly first few holes, a little bit of clearing of small trees around baskets maybe?.....and is the basket for hole 6 a severe dog leg left up a hill??? overall excited about the potential of this course....picked up some loose trash out there today to do my part. good work!

This course has tons of potential. Even met some of the designers during my round. Can't wait to see the finished product. Will definitely go back.
