This course is phenomenal!!!
Really beautiful and really challenging
I think the pads are fine bc the earth behind them is flush to the pad making run ups smooth
I also used my Zuca cart and I am grateful bc hauling a bag on my back up and down all the hills would have taken away from my enjoyment and my game tbh
Raised baskets, zen stacks of boulders, its like Mason County dg courses had sex with Flip city and BAM!! Whiskey creek was born!!!! lol
There is a store with drinks and snacks an ...

Only downside is pads. Otherwise very challenge and beautiful course.

Very impressed with this course. Worth the trip for sure. Nicely carved fairways with elevation to deal with on most holes and lot's of trees and foliage to make it challenging. The beautiful rock gardens and formations add to the scenery and make for additional obstacles.
With better tee pads and fewer distractions from the ATV vehicles racing around, this course would rate even better.

Better tee pads pushes this course to an A+. Underrated gem of a course

Needs better tee pads fairway to be cut better maybe open some up a little

After the first 2 teepads, the teepads suck. I think they are a raggy 2 x 3. This is the ONLY thing keeping this course from being an A+. All holes are a kodak moment and most have extreme elevation changes. You better be hitting your lines when you play here or you are in TROUBLE! This course is not cart friendly and you will have gotten your exercise. If your rating is 920 or less you will be happy breaking 80. The manmade rock formations are awesome out there! Top shelf course that all should play for sure! The fun factor is off the charts here. I will be back!

Everyone has heard about Whiskey's teepads. Some are generous and others are tiny, turtle shell lookin' poured concrete pads. Signage is great with directions to the next tee near every basket. Scenery is stunning. Be prepared to pick gnats out of your eyeballs though. All in all a challenging, technical course. Would easily be an A+ with uniform teepads.

So much potential here. Fun lines and awesome elevation. Needs some trimming. The fairways are pretty well maintained; mowed and weed-whipped but once you're in the rough...ouch. 22 more nice tee pads (there are dance floor tee pads on 1 and 3, with the rest being a hump of cement that slopes down on all edges) would move this course up in the rankings for sure.

Great course, put together very well to challenge even the best out there! Elevation, trees and shrubbery, rock towers, and more make this one of the best scenery/picturesque courses around the area.
Be prepared to hike as it's a long course!

Amazing challenge and breathtaking views. The teepads did not bother me as I thought most shots could be done with little run up. Very difficult course that rewards the ability to control your angles.

This course is challenging with various elevation changes and shot types. It takes a while to play and will tire you out with hiking up and down hills, but very worth it. Picturesque views and some awesome pin locations. It is definitely a challenging course, relatively new and continuously worked on, but is not worth a bad rating because of it. I personally put this up there with Flip City.

Extreme elevation variability in comparison to other courses in the state. Vigorous Up-and-down on 75% of the holes. Practically every drive is blind. The course layout is somewhat difficult to follow with the course map provided on the scorecard. The tee pads are unacceptably short for tournament play given the required strength for most drives, and several pads are slippery even dry; since this course is used for the state championships, it accommodates serious players who deserve better c ...

Beautiful course, well maintained. Nice tee pads overall. Right level of difficulty for players, challenging without feeling it was impossible. Great workout, tons of up and down holes, not cart friendly so dont bother with your zuca, nicely marked for easy navigation. I will be back to this one again. Well worth $5 for the beautiful upkeep alone!

I have no idea how a B rating is here- this is absolutely majestic! Gorgeous!
+0 votes Jack Bungart › Whiskey Hills › September 4, 2017
This is a really nice course that was pretty well maintained. The tee pads are really bad in most areas though which is why it's not an A course, natural tees would be better to be honest. There is a ton of elevation changes out here and some pretty unique shots. Tons of birdie ops if you know how to get them. Some of the rough gets pretty rough too so also some bogey ops for misplaced shots. People that ran the place seemed pretty friendly and camping 10 bucks a head not too shabby.

Beautiful Course, Tee pads are a bit short and uneven for the required shots (distance drives need decent tees)
+3 votes Tyler Huyghe › Whiskey Hills › May 2, 2017
This is an amazing course. Easily top five in Michigan and has the potential to be number one with the land that they have.
Pros- Has a great variation of holes with plenty of elevation. Well thought out and designed and every hole is fair. Will test out every disc in your bag.
Cons- some tee pads could be improved.
Give this course a chance because the rating it currently has is certainly unfair.

The basket placements are exquisite and the elevation challenges even the best discers. Highly recommended, plus there is a welcoming store in the parking lot.

This course is not cart friendly, traversing the elevation was difficult. Beautiful course though.

would be a A+ if they did run out cement on hole 1 2 and 4s tee pads

Isolated gem. Plenty of twists, turns and elevation changes. The gnats are relentlessly ruthless and impervious to bug spray, you have been warned...

Great course. You can tell a lot of work has already been put into it. There is a great variety in hole length and doglegs different directions. Some awesome use of elevation and a great finishing hole. There are a few elevated baskets which I think are fun to putt on. Not to mention the baskets are amazing. The teepads need work, navigation can be iffy in spots and some tall flags on top of blind baskets would be awesome. Overall, fantastic course with a lot of potential.

This course has the potential to be one of the best if not the best in the state. The lay out is amazing and well thought out. But sadly that's where the kind words end. Thanks to the greed of the owners of this course I will never play here again. They have no idea what the great sport of disc golf is about. All they showed us this weekend was how greedy they really are. I heard they promised completed tee pads and they gave us little pieces of shit pads on all but 3 holes. Then to try t ...

Awesome course one of the best around. And for the state of Michigan deffinatly a top 10 contender. Don't let the reviews of the people that are pissed about loosing there ten dollars hinder you idea of how great this course truly is. The lack of teepads will be addressed I'm sure of it but what they have now work just fine because they are level through the entire teeing area. I myself will not cut ties with the course even though I disagree with there antics.

Have never, and will never play here. How dare you charge a $10 cover for my disc golf brothers and sisters for a fireworks show that we and our sponsor Discraft paid for. I will drive right by your place and go play another course. If I hear of anyone I know, contemplating on where to stay in that vacinity, I will direct them to another campground. Have a great day.

Teepads. Throw away every garbage teepad besides 1,2, and 4 and you have a solid A course. The shots required on most of the holes with uneven, 3x4' scrap splats of "so called teepads" cause some of the worst run up conditions out there for a course that requires a pretty solid run up for most of the holes. Charging $5 per person to play and they don't even have proper teepads. This course could be soooo much better. I would rather throw from a natural teepad all day than what they have to offer at this course.

Awesome course layout, terrible pads and upkeep of the property.
Worse than the pads are the owners of the course with there greed and pan handling tactics. Disc golf is to unify and grow as a community all pushing towards one common goal of devoloping and evolving the sport we love and play. These owners know only greed and deceit. I will not play here again till all is fixed.

Only played 1 hole of a sick disc golf course but will not give it any love because of the people who own the property. Do not support these greedy big headed fucks. I may return one day to play but I sure hope some serious changes are made. The owners of Whiskey Creek really did a good job bringing in a team, Mason County Disc Golf Club (MCDGC) mostly Dan Gipe, to design and install the course for the 2015 Discraft Michigan Disc Golf State Championship. The elevation changes make the disc golfer work hard at just traversing the course, the details like rock formations throughout the course, large tee pads, and unique tee signs only add to the future success this course will enjoy. You can tell that the owners of Whiskey Creek have ...

Great course, lots of elevation and views - and rock formations similar to Flip City. I love a course where you can toss 300 foot and have it go 450! Elevated baskets, tight lines and open, red/white/blue baskets, forehand and backhand shots and a couple of amazing teepads (hopefully they build them throughout). Once this course beats in it could be world class. Drawbacks were tons of gnats, they really need to add bat houses. Also heard they had some disagreements with the staff of the S ...

This course has great potential and has a great variety of uphills, downhills, short and long. The tee pads were often too short and need quite a bit of work. We happened to play on a day where the nats were unrelenting swarming around you all day.

The course has great potential. Except the addition of what looked like a drunk attempted to pour slabs of cement for pads. I can't wait to see it in the years to come.

Beautiful course! Would be a favorite of mine, but someone is putting speed bumps where the pads r supposed to b. Most of the pads are raised and really short making a run up impossible.

Love the layout! With its hole designs and elevation changes, this course has the potential to become one of the best in Michigan once it is finished. Landscaping needs to be completed and the tee pads need a lot of work. Once those are done, my rating will change to an A or A+.

I took the family camping for the weekend at whiskey creek, and everyone had a good time. Camping with electric was only $35 a night. Small man made lake and an indoor pool were great to use and unwind after a long and exhausting round. We will definitely add this to the list of places to camp during the summer!
I think the course is fantastic! it is certainly rough around the edges, but with increased play will beat in nicely. The elevation changes make the course play tougher than it is, du ...

Great course, it's still a work in progress, I like the layout and variety of up and down hill shots with lots of trees to maneuver around. The tee pads are gravel but still give you good footing. It will be a great course once they get signs made with the distances and the map. Baskets are great but need to be numbered. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Whiskey Hills=Flip City's hillier, shorter cousin with a difficulty equivalent somewhere between Beauty and Beast.
You can tell that there has been a LOT of hours put into the course which is really nice! The rocky raised baskets on 1 and 16 are really cool. I enjoy the elevation changes and there seems to be a good amount of left/right/straight holes. I played this course in December when it didn't have its "makeup" on (no leaves to frame holes) so the wow factor was lessened. This is a ...
