When will the course be open to the public?

Jason "Rooster" Bruster   June 22, 2014 at 12:31am

It should be open from Sunday after 4pm till Wed evening. The annual Civil War Reenactment (largest on the west coast) takes place over the 4th of July and forces course closure for one week per year. The course will reopen July 8th.

Congratulations Pac-West on your project of this fine course. My son and I got to throw early lead off round with another father/ son that was visiting from Hawaii and happened to hear about opening day event. I missed first course ace on #6 as it caught chain, we all were ready to celebrate big, and then agony of defeat as it dropped out, would of been great but oh well. We all found it to be a great day of disc on what I feel will become a premiere destination course as final signage and fi ... more

Still sitting here at house wondering why that ace run of mine didn't stick. Would have been great ... more

Anyway thanks to whoever as gotten started on some fairway mowing, hope they can all be done in time. It's coming together but still plenty to do. Busy with Woodmansee and Park Supervisor tomorrow. Should be able to make some time Thursday and Friday morning if wanted. Take care all.

I'll take all the help I can get! Bring the seedeater out again if you want.

Steve Moore   June 17, 2014 at 10:19pm

Did you get chance to see what I got done today, makes it lots more playable. Busy tomorrow but should be out there Thursday for more clearing. Saw basket sleeve holes dug, did sleeves get in today? Take care Mike and what a project that is coming to a end, except for future upkeep which will be needed to keep growth from taking over again.

Mike Wilson   June 17, 2014 at 10:42pm

Wondering about what else was able to be done on course yesterday after I left. What else is left to be done and what is game plan for this week to get it ready. Things that come to mind are sleeves, basket assembly/install, signage, indicator markers for walkouts, more weed whacking, and last but most important mowing plan for fairways. I can make some time available if plan in place. Thank you.

Speak up Dru, that's what forums are for. Hopefully positive ideas and comments, but sometimes people take offense to comments, read them wrong, or just don't know details and background comments are based on. In long run hopefully all good and since I feel I do contribute to multiple co ... more

Steve, keep working around tee pads and anything you think a mower will have a tough time getting close to.

Thanks Mike and at this time will probably be out there for while at some point, will know more when I get up in morning.

**Wheatland Disc Golf course**
So after 6 hours of running my weed wacker last 2 days have been able to assist making dent in work still needed to finish up course for this weekend. The main (one of them) and most important thing left at moment is mowing 3-5 foot tall field fairways. If anyone has access to or knows anyone that could possibly assist us on this task please contact myself here, Jason Bruster, or Mike Wilson. I really hope someone can give us a big assist with this. Tractor mower is what is needed, lots of ground to cover,
Thank you in advance,
Steve

Still more to do before opening but the last big looming project is complete!!

I'll be out there about 3'ish. Look for my red Suburban.
Gloves, loppers, muscle are what we need.

Great job on all your efforts Mike to try and get this project finished up. What are current plans to finish pouring the last 8 tee pads before opening in 10 days? Again big thanks from me for having the concept and following thru with it to what should be another nice course for the area.

Steve Moore    June 9, 2014 at 1:34am

Am very sorry to hear about family issue and hope all is getting resolved and better. Was wondering if anyone was going to still make it out to Wheatland Monday or not, trying to plan my day out. Thank you.

I have a few phone calls to make Monday morning. But I'm hoping to make it out after that is done. I'll post a time Monday when I have a better idea of when.

Mike Wilson    June 7, 2014 at 7:54am

Due to family illness.... The work party scheduled for Monday to pour tee pads has been postponed until Friday June 13th at 2:30pm. Since we are starting so late in the afternoon we are asking for "all hands on deck"!! The more people we get to show up and help the sooner we can finish. Thanks in advance.

There are still plans to be working out there on Monday but please check back here to make sure of the start time.

I'm just wondering what the current plan is to finish up this course in time for opening in couple weeks. Any scheduled plans to finish up tee pad pour, signage, make playable for events? Not heard much lately and just trying to get folks excited about this potentially good course again. Waiting and trying to help out where I can to get it done. Thank you.
