This is a very technical course and I love technical courses. Maps and signage are done extremely well. The course plays around the Richmond Spiders campus that is very beautiful. If you like wide open shots with little to no trees and no elevation change this course is not for you. If you are up the challenge of hitting tight windows and playing around trees then you will love this course. Not beginner friendly but if you are an intermediate to advanced golfer then enjoy this beauty.

Because that's what it feels like if you don't hit trees. Nice scenery and well maintained, but just overly difficult in my opinion.

decent course. a little hard to navigate the first few holes, but once you get in the woods, the flow is pretty easy to follow. not a fan of flypads, as this was my first time playing on them. any dirt or debris made for tough footing. could also use some trimming on a few holes, as there's some lines that are hard to hit without hitting one of the many saplings down most of the wooded fairways. still a fun course, and i'd play it again if i was back in the area.

Getting to the course: Park in the Jepson Alumni Center Parking. It's free, shouldn't be an issue. If you look at the Alumni Center, the course starts to your left

Layout: The first three holes are fairly open, then the rest until 17 and 18 are in the thick of the woods. Lots of trees. Getting from hole to hole can be a tad confusing; take a picture of the map before you begin.

Skill Level Needed: Medium. This was not a beginner friendly course, as there are a lot of blind shots that require you to trust the map. LOTS of trees in the way.

Elevation: Not too bad. Some hills, ups and downs, a good amount of the course is built in a forrest, but there is a good walking trail for the course.

Overall: I did like this course, but it frustrated me a bit as a new player. I think I will play some easier courses in Richmond again before coming back here, so that I will be more prepared and play better. Definitely offers a challenge.

The course review is based on how the course is and how it fit my game. I like this course a lot. It fit the campus well but there are a few navigation issues. Each hole has new rubber tee pads and nice hole signs along with new DGA Mach III baskets. The course opens with a few open holes and then takes you in to the wooded holes with a solid mix of uphill, downhill, hyzers & anhyzers then ends with 2 open holes. This course has students that have never played the game in mind. (There were a few first timers with beach frisbees)

There are not any holes for big throwers. The longest hole is 315. But don't let that discourage you from playing there. It's a fun course.

Not as long as some would like but challenging enough. It seemed like it was taylor made for my game. Don't go off the path in the woods or you will be in the jailhouse. The course is still fairly new with paths being worked in. Some holes have really natty brier patches that have not had paths worked in to them yet.

Please note that parking services requires all visitors to have parking stickers on their cars, including disc golfers. They are free and valid for up to 6 months and can be applied for online or in person. It only takes a few days to receive the parking sticker in the mail.

I played on a Saturday morning and didn't have a parking sticker. I asked some regulars playing and they gave me the impression that the stickers are for the weekdays when parking is at a premium.
