This is a great additon to NE Ohio courses. This course is very long, mostly open, but with a few tight fairways. For the most part, it's not a wooded course. That being said, you can still find yourself in trees and thorn bushes. It gives you different looks at the basket, which is nice. Definitely worth a trip, but be ready for a long day. Have fun!

This course was designed with the big arms in mind, but there's nothing wrong with that. Very open and some decent elevation changes, wind becomes a factor and can be swirling at times. The fairways are very well defined and course navigation is super easy to follow between baskets, but you may need to walk up a little ways the first time through to get a visual of the basket on a few holes. Some very long par 3s, but being open, that's to be expected. This is the kind of course an average player will need to have their approach game on and stay on the fairways to score close to par. There is some rough, and I heard that going in, but honestly did not find it to be as daunting as it was built up to be. But each time I did not hit my spot on the fairway, I paid for it with extra strokes, usually to pitch out. But honestly, that's what should happen. Great course and I will definitely be back to try and better my score.

Threw a round on a warm Winter Solstice afternoon with a good friend. Right away you can tell this park is well maintained, and that the course is a showcase for high level disc golf play. Ample parking lot with a nice restroom facility, you can warm up on the practice basket before following the asphalt path to the first hole.

Fully aware that this is a championship level course, and knowing it was long, I was skeptical heading into this adventure with how much enjoyment this 43 year old sub 900 rated player could have. While the majority of the holes here play long, the course is very fair overall and rewards smart shot selection and placement. Huge risk reward is constantly offered to the player, and you need to decide on when to go for it. Most holes played bogey golf to my distance and ability, and I walked away satisfied with that.

The course shows it's teeth with sneaky distances, elevation changes, and landing zones that appear more accessible than they truly are. The key with Silver Creek is keeping your disc in play, and often times that means discing down and choosing your spots which often costs you a stroke from par, but keeps you in play. The rough throughout this course is brutal, thick, and full of thorns. Lost disc potential is extremely high if you go more than 10' into the thickets.

Extreme length occupies a good 75% of this course, with a handful of reachable par 3's and some modest par 4's but everything else is bombing controlled shots sometimes three of them to get into putting and approach range. We specifically waited until Winter for our first time visit knowing how brutal the rough was in the growing season. I don't know if I would seek a round out here during the Summer, but Spring, Autumn, and a warm Winter day makes for a good option.

This course doesn't appeal to a regular player like myself as a place I'd come back to very often, but it's extremely well thought out and constructed. It exceeded my expectations at all levels, and was worth the visit. I just don't understand why a gold level course would be installed in a metro park without shorter sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels. Unless this is meant to generate revenue through pro events, it does fall short on what public disc golf courses should be built for.

The fairways are fair and the rough is rough so stay on the fairway. Both my card mate and I lost a disc on different holes but in an area where we should have found them but did not.

The course is beautifully maintained with proper concrete tee pads and signage. I can see that this has been designed to attract the Pro's and I am sure they will like it. For us mere mortals, it can be frustrating at times, but a course I would play again.

Back 9 is extremely difficult in my opinion for anyone intermediate and below. I live locally and have played the course 20+ times now. WOULD NOT recommend for anyone that can't hit the fairway consistently. YOU WILL LOSE DISCS if you are not hitting the fairways.

Sadly for the average player (who starts to long for a Golf Cart while playing the last 3 holes) I cant see them making this a regular go to course.

Course is well laid out except for #16 The awkward flow from 15 to 16 is very noticeable to say the least! After 15, you walk 250' or so down #16's fairway to the tee, and throw a drive right over where you just walked! Guess they just wanted a 1000' hole? I saw a couple players not even get their drive back to where they started! Really should have just made a nice Par 4 instead of making that 1000' clunker. Heaven forbid you go OB as well. HAVE SPOTTERS!

Excellent Install and support from the park. Signs, tees and fairways are all perfect. I was a bit harsher with my thoughts early on but 3-4 plays in now and having gotten perspective from the designers and the restrictions they had in trying to carry out what the park was asking for, I definitely appreciate it even more. Favorite holes for me are #4 and #11, two excellent par 4's that give you a risk/reward in how aggressive you want to get off the tee.

Unfortunately, the dense thorns and rough lining many of the fairways on the back portion of the course definitely prevent me from really enjoying those holes to their fullest as I don't want to play too aggressive and lose discs. Hopefully the course will get a lot of play and get plenty of paths through the rough in the years to come. Even with 350-370ft of controllable distance, things start to feel repetitive by the back 9, throwing the same exact disc and shot to keep it in the fairway and get a par or long look at birdie.

Bring a friend or two to spot for each other, have healthy expectations for the challenging holes and thick rough, and you'll have blast.

Got out there this morning at 6:30 and thankfully didn’t have to play alone. This course is perfection in my opinion. Extremely challenging, if I would of kept score I would have been well over par. Took a 9 on the par 5!!! Lol but still had a blast, feel like we finally have something similar to Moraine. Can’t wait to keep improving my score at this gem! A must play. I would recommend wearing pants and long sleeves though as the fairways are very tight and the roughs are BRUTAL! Novice and inexperienced players do not come alone and do not get discouraged this course will beat you up!
There’s no way I wasn’t giving this course an A+ though, go see it for yourself. Bravo to all parties involved in sculpting this masterpiece!!

Super fun course. Great mix of short and long holes. Perfect signage, concrete tees, some benches by a few tees, trash cans throughout , mulch under baskets, beautiful fairways that appear to be maintianed regularly, but if you go off said fairways be ready to get poison ivy, scratches, wet from bogs, and even lose a disc or 3 lol. Park has a great restroom area and parking lot.took my group of 6 people 3.5 hrs to play a round, there were a few holes where looking for discs caused it to run a lil long. Don't have too much bad too say about it , we need a course that forces you to place a drive and shape shots .

Cons: Poison Ivy and difficult rough to deal with at times, some pin placements could be more interesting (further into woods, etc.), no picnic tables/shelters

This course has just opened. In a short amount of time this could become an A+ course. It is already a destination course in my view. It is the longest course I have played in Ohio by far, and it is challenging but so great to play. Definitely risk/reward in attempting to go long on some fairways. Holes you should not miss: 4, 11, 16, 17. Give yourself enough time to play due to length and disc searching in spots.

UPDATE: First weekend open, and now there is more signage: public caution signs, next tee signs, and new benches and trash cans at the tees every few holes. Plus, while playing, a park worker came up to our group and asked for feedback, including asking for where additional clearing of rough areas would be beneficial. They also indicated that they have put down some broadleaf control (read: poison ivy control) that should show results in the weeks ahead. Clearly Summit Metro Parks cares and is interested in delivering an optimal experience. So awesome. Note also that I believe this will be much like Portage Lakes in my view in that this will make an optimal cold-season course from November to April, when foliage dies back and while golfers wear more protective clothing.
