A hidden gem. If you can get invited to play Sage Creek, you need to get on it. A perfect use of the available acerage. It has lots of character, elevation, and challenging lines. One of my favorite things about this place is that it doesn't remind me of any other course. It is truly unique, from it's Fraces, Scary Trees, and decor. The Baults work their butts off keeping this place up, much to the appreciation of anyone that is lucky enough to play it.

What an amazing course!

This is one of the most technical courses I've ever played. Every hole is fair, but there are trees everywhere! Several unique hole shapes that I haven't seen anywhere else. Plenty of different fairway shapes that will test your shot shaping and control. Great use of Sage Creek winding through their property adds a great amount of tension on many holes.

It doesn't hurt that this course is gorgeous! Becca and Sean do a great job maintaining their course, it always looks in top condition!

If you get the chance to play there, don't pass it up!

I must say, after playing with 24 Chains at Sage Creek this week and reviewing all the courses ive played in the past, Sage is now my all time favorite course, nationally! I had such an awesome time playing there! The lines were very versatile and a great mix of shortys & long holes but that river is what made the whole course top notch! Avoiding it made me strive for more focused shots and without having complete anxiety throw since i knew others were able to retrieve most of the discs that went in. Fucking amazing job designing it and putting in the muscle to bring it to life! Very inspiring for what an ideal private course could be. I felt like i was playing in a fairy tale. Lots of neat art to find throughout the course and a good mix of ace runs! Just breath taking with intriguing lines that made me utilize a full range of discs and had me questioning what lines/discs to use. Big thanks to Becca and Sean for opening up your home to us!

Played Sage Creek in September of 2018. My review... 1st...This course is in someone's backyard! I can't STRESS this enough ! Becca bought the land, built a house on in and designed and built course. So,if you plan on playing, CONTACT her first ! 2nd... In my opinion, what she asked for minimum donation was too low,$5. Money goes for course improvement. 3rd... the course, for those who like to bomb, I salute you (a play on a a AC/DC reference)but this is more wooded and technical. There is 24 holes and 8 baskets are shared but there is elevation changes and a creek running throughout that comes into play when water is high. For the ladies Outhouse in middle of course! ...4th and final.... Becca and Sean are great hosts and my time playing there WAS the most memorable round I played that 3 day disc golf weekend. So I feel the need to list a Con like others and mine is this : I and my friends are 5 hours away.

The owners Becca and Sean are really cool and they keep up on course maintenance very well. Would love to play again sometime soon.

This course is AWESOME. Becca and Sean have some great property and a killer course. It may have less baskets than holes but the design is impeccable. The hole layouts are set up in a way where you won't even realize you have already thrown to that basket earlier. A great blend of forehand, backhand, water, and elevation shots. I would be happy to come back anytime to play or help on course clean up days.
The only reason my review is not an A+ is because there is room to improve teepads and signage.

Just a great round on a terrific piece of land. A dozen of so baskets and 24 holes. The set up is done so you would hardly know you are playing to the same basket ever, throughout the round. The course lacks for some distance and feature some holes that lack for a solid disc golf line, but that should not be taken as anything but a unique design, overall. Natural tee pad played well, and a variety of solid baskets. The love for this course is apparent playing with Sean and Rebecca....and by the tremendous shape the course is in. A big thanks to both of them for showing us around and letting our group play this gem. Matched with Mill Creek in the area, it makes for a very memorable road trip.

Lots of elevation brought into play which makes for some fantastic shot lines as well. Loved every bit of this course, lots of playability here, not a course to get bored of at all. First off is my review, second will be my nine year old sons. First off it is amazing, the homeowners play with you. Amazing concept that a husband and wife who are dedicated to the sport share their property and time. Tight and technical!!!! Perfect use of the surrounding trees and plant life to create a majestic coarse. The ace holes that they have are superb. I only got to play the 1st nine holes before my 4 yr old wanted to get some food. I will definitely return whenever I am in the area. The hanging basket is one of the best laid holes I have played. Now the 9 year olds perspective: he liked the fact that they guide you while you all play. The decorations on the trees. Definitely have to keep your eyes open cause they have little surprises all over the place. The creek that runs though the property turns into a nice obstacle on several of the holes.(the water level was low so did not need my dragon:( ). Very fun, and definitely no shortage of challenge. The course features some relatively tight fairways and plenty of trees. All of which are still very maneuverable. Not super dangerous if you try to run some more challenging lines; just dont find yourself trampling off the beaten path to find your lie... It can be brutal. Plenty of changing elevation shots to go around, and all sorts of little offshoots from the creek that runs through almost the entirety of the course. Its a really challenging, yet still very fun and challenging course that really takes you to another place. Feels like your up north, in thd trails, and just enjoying nature. SOLID A.

This course will easily be an A+ once all the baskets are upgraded and course grooming is complete. The variety here is excellent. Tons of elevation changes, water hazards, and tight lines. This course will force your forehand, backhand, tomahawk, etc. Even the shortest holes are well designed and still challenging. It was fun to think out of the box here and take risks. Can't wait to go back after having played through each hole and learned the routes. Sage Creek has character like no other course. Thanks Rebecca and Sean!

Play here, its awesome. Course is well maintained, hosts are absolutely the best! Challenging 24 holes over 9 acres, with a huge variety of playable style. Creek was dry, which made for easier play than when the creek is full/over flowing. Located in Memphis, this is the best disc golf course around. I personally enjoyed this course more than stoney creek, because of the variety and hole layout style. I recommend anyone within even 2 hrs drive to give this course a try, you wont be disappointed! Loved it and cant wait to play it again!!

i can't tell you whats better, the layout of this course, or its owners. you will use every disc in your bag, and you will not be able to tell that you're shooting to the same basket on two separate holes. it is bar none one of the most diverse courses I've played. it is a pure blast. never mind the db who rated it f- when he has never played it. the tool bag is just butt hurt because he's now banned. screw him, trust me... This course blew me away, even more so knowing it is privately owned and maintained. So much character, elevation change, fun shots, and some really cool baskets (one hanging from a tree like a bird feeder, another completely made out of wood except for the chains). I have only played for two years and got hooked and have still played only a handful of courses. This experience was my favorite by far. The owners were extremely cool and even played with us to navigate through. They even offered some pointers that taught me some things. If you get a chance, it is worth a few hours to check out! We had a blast.

Even though most holes are shorter they require precise placement of shots. Fun course can't wait to play it again once the river rises.

If you bleed disc golf as I do than this place has it all. When God gave us disc golf I believe this is the spot he had in mind where the game was to be played. No distractions from the out side world, so peaceful that your can not help but fall in love with this design. It opens with a first shot behind the old cabin, down hill to a beautiful hand crafted wood basket and finishes strong to a blind shot to a hanging basket. You need to bring all the shots to this heavenly spot cause you are going to need them. Uphill , down hill with the sage creek winding thru the conplete set up. There are Aces to be had but bring both your nerve and skill because the baskets are placed to make you think and respect and fear. The work here was done for the love of the game and it shows in every hole. Congrats Becca you have the hidden gem of Michigan and maybe the country. I have been playing this game since 1980 and have never enjoyed a round such as the one I played at Sage Creek

These people have way too much fun up there! Has an up north feel but only about 1/2 hr NE of Stony Creek. Loved it!

Other Thoughts: I had a lot of fun playing Sage Creek. It's a very beautiful course and I admire the owners and appreciate all the hard work and time they put into their course.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was invited to check out the course. I've been living out here for over 7 years but never knew this place existed. I used to Google map my neighborhood dreaming up courses and looking for a perfect spot to explore for possibilities of building a course near home one day. I still remember a few years ago looking at aerials of the same area where the course is at and thought it had great potential but gave up after realizing it was all private property and not owned by the city or parks. Little did I know it was right there in front of me the whole time.

I pulled into the driveway and was greeted at the door by 3 cute pups who were excited to see who was going to play in their back yard. They were already sniffing around and checking out what was in my bag when the little one pulled out a disc that he must have wanted me to use on hole one. These dogs must have been trained to find discs by picking up on the scent. I'm already liking this course a lot and I haven't even seen the first hole.

When we walked around the corner to hole one I immediately knew there was something special about this course and the family who lives there. As I was guided throughout the property, I was in awe of all the beautiful land and creative design that was put into this course. The views from the tees, fairways, and baskets were awesome enough hang a picture of them on a wall in your house.

The course has a secluded feel like there is nobody around for miles. Even though we were not technically "up-north" in Michigan, it had that same peaceful setting that I love about disc golf. It kind of reminded me of years ago when I was a kid, playing in the woods along the river behind our old house.

As we continued to the next holes, the course kept getting better and better to the point where I wasn't sure if I was in a dream or what. Every hole was unique and different, even though a couple baskets are shared at the moment. Each hole also had the perfect distance where it was fair but challenging too. The course flow was amazing with the amount of land they had to work with. Epic elevation shots and clever use of the creek and the basket placements made me start to wonder if I had found the designers for the courses I've been working on.

It only kept getting better too! They designed this place to the point where you can use all kinds of shots. Lucky for me I didn't tee off first because I was having trouble deciding which shot and disc I wanted to throw down this awesome course. There were so many possibilities for both lefties and righties.

Before I knew it, we were out there for quite a while and the sun was now beginning to set. I didn't want to leave but it was time to go home. This course is a lot of fun and it's now my favorite course. This place is awesome and I can't wait for the next time.

Thanks so much for the chance to play here and giving me the hope to keep going forward in building other courses. I know how much time and work that goes into a private course and I'm really proud of ya for doing an unbelievable job.

Sage Creek now has 12 baskets and 24 holes. New 13 goes up a hill so steep we had to put in stairs. You look at the bottom of the basket from the bottom of the hill. We now have 3 Mach V's and we have installed inner chains on most of our other baskets. Course landscaping is looking better and better every day :). Holes 2,5,21,22 play to a Mach V. Holes 6, 16, 18, 20 play to a Mach V that sits a foot away from the creek edge. and about 2 feet above the water (when its not flooded) Holes 8, 11, 17, 19 play to a Mach V up near the pine forest near the giant fire pit and outhouse. Holes 1 and 23 play to a custom wood basket i made. Holes 9 and 24 play to a hanging basket. The other 8 holes play to their own basket, which we will upgrade when we have the money. Every hole is incredibly unique, they may share the same baskets but every line is completely different.
