Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Despite battling a nasty headache (seems to almost always happen the day after a grueling tournament), Sandy and Ryan and I headed out to Reserves Park for fun at the playground as well as the disc golf course! A really nice 13 year old actually joined us for the first round and he isn't bad at all! It felt a little like deja vu after playing with that 12 year old prodigy yesterday! :) My Falcon Servo hit a smooth line on #3 all afternoon today including both rounds here! My Megasoft Shield and Roach both came VERY close to acing #7 (Shield in Round #1). As a matter of fact, my Roach throw looked so good I just enjoyed watching it hit a super straight line and I was shocked when it apparently went *just* wide right. That's what I get for assuming I had it, eh? ;)"

Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "The first round above is where my Roach nearly aced #7 (I mentioned this in the comments for the last two rounds.) The second round here was fantastic! My putting was very good as was my upshot. The Shield continues to hit super smooth straight lines. I had a wonderful drive on #8 with my Inertia (landed just wide left about 10-15 ft. out)."

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "It's too bad I had my "stinker" round of the day paired up with a solid -8 round but that's how it goes. Both of my -8 rounds were spoiled by Hole #4 of all holes! I need to hit the line a bit better there!"

Matthew Hull 18 - Regular tees, 9 holes "WOW!! Now that's how you kick off a batch of early evening rounds of disc golf! :) With Sandy and Ryan joining me for Holes #4-9, I was able to really battle to snag several birdies despite this being my first round (typically a warm-up round) and the wind being a major factor tonight (10-15 mph westward wind). My Falcon Servo hit a smooth line on #3 (faded just a bit before I wanted...it landed on the left edge of the fairway) and I made several 20-25 ft. putts along the way too! My Sword hit a solid line on #8 but I still needed to bury the 20 ft. putt there. And despite my Falcon Servo overshooting the #9 basket by a lot, I nailed the putt there as well. It was quite satisfying because my drives were by NO means perfect. My Roach is hitting its stride though which I hope continues into next week's Flying Pig tournament! :)"

Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "What an unbelievable rally to save the first round from the dead! I started on Hole #4 this round (since it is much closer to #9 than #1) so I wasn't doing too hot until the "last" few holes happened. And boy did they ever happen! Obviously, the throw of the round (and evening) was a smooth Falcon Servo flex shot on Hole #3! With the wind moving to the right (West), I released my drive low and with velocity and it turned a fairly large amount before fading hard...right into the chains for a true no-doubt Ace! I know I don't need to emphasize this but just to quell any critics out there, this was indeed my FIRST throw from the tee-pad and I buried it for the 230 ft. Ace! So there! ;)"
-14
Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "I certainly rode the momentum from my Falcon Servo Ace the remainder of the evening because it honestly felt like I was playing with house money! This duo of rounds was truly wonderful too as my drives and putts were very, very good overall. I continue to try to take my time and focus on my throws (I still love running from hole to hole.) and that seems to have helped me recover my solid putting...even though several putts are hitting a really high line and nailing the # sign on the baskets (not a good thing)."
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "This is a classic case of me putting together one phenomenal round and following it up with a putrid, stinky turd of a round. Ugh! That second round was awful and quickly became another "experimental" round (where I take chances and throw discs I wouldn't normally throw). The first one was superb though! Even though I couldn't quite hit that Ace line again on Hole #3, my Falcon Servo continued to land pretty close to the basket (usually within 20 ft. of the left side of the basket). I alternated between my Sword and Inertia and both discs hit superb lines overall. I look forward to throwing them tomorrow at...GULP...Mt. Airy!"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Considering that both of these rounds were played in complete and total darkness, I am thrilled to have achieved some solid scores. It is difficult to drive (and putt!) when you can't see things clearly you know? My trusty flashlight came in handy on Hole #3 too (Gatekeeper drive landed to the left of the fairway.)"

Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "I had to get out tonight. I just had to do so. Work has been super intense/stressful so it was nice to enjoy some rounds @ Reserves Park. It had just rained so the ground was wet which made things a ****allenging but there was NO wind which is unusual. It was almost eerie! Anyway, I took my time and slowed the game down once more and my putting was fantastic! I don't want to jinx anything but my Roach is on fire right now! I had a lousy Gatekeeper drive on #1 yet I made the downhill 20-25 ft. putt to start things off. My Falcon Servo faded just a bit early on #3 (still an easy putt though) while my Star Stingray darn near hit the Ace on #5 (again). Unfortunately, my Sword drive on #8 really let me down and I continue to overshoot #9 but the first round was solid. The second one wasn't too bad either! My Inertia continues to hit some smooth lines as it nailed the one on #8!"

Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Meh...that sort of sums up these rounds. Bleh..."
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Sweetness!! It was so satisfying to put together a perfect round and finish at 9 under again! I made some good putts and just executed all of my throws very well. My Inertia was literally PARKED by #8 (under the basket). It was pretty dark by this point so to put together a round like this was really cool! Too bad I couldn't have had a better second round but oh well."

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "After enjoying what has been a wonderful weekend with the family and an old college friend of mine, I headed out to Reserves Park for the evening and it was a blast! The wind was swirling a bit but it was still pretty warm (90 degrees when I arrived) and a multitude of people were fishing at the pond (the pond is right by Holes #1-3 btw). Anyway, I started out the way I finished the other day by taking my time and trying to slow the game down in my mind and it worked wonders during my initial round!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "My putting is still quite unpredictable which is a concern but at least I was able to make a decent amount of 15+ ft. putts overall. I just need to find my rhythm and execute better."
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "My Gatekeeper hit some interesting lines a couple of times this evening on Hole #3. Both times it turned *almost* enough to hit the Ace line but just didn't quite get there. My Vandal nailed the bottom lip of the Hole #4 basket also. Overall though I didn't have as many "close calls" as usual...probably due to the wind factor."
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "That second round winded up being my best round of the evening! My Blue Bomber Buzzz landed a mere 10-12 ft. to the left of the fairway on Hole #3 and my Shield continues to nail the line on Hole #6. I anticipate another Ace there soon and I've been obliterating that hole lately! :) My Bengals Resistor *just* missed the Ace on Hole #9. The Resistor is much more over-stable than the similar Falcon Servo (both are MVP discs) so I don't tend to throw it too often. I want to get that disc an Ace though so I am really trying on Hole #9 in particular."
-6
Matthew Hull 21 - Regular tees, 9 holes "Ha, ha, ha! I don't blame a single soul for doubting me because of how insane things have been with my "In the Dark" Aces lately but it really did happen again! The wind briefly died down on Hole #9 so I went with my gut and threw my Glo Roach on a hyzer line and lo and behold...it nailed the line and the Ace once again on that hole...just like it did less than a week ago! The rest of the round was quite erratic unfortunately but it felt wonderful to end the evening on a high note. My super workhorse putter deserves all the Aces and accolades it can get. I have probably yelled at my Roach more than any other disc since I use it all the time and nothing is more irritating than missing a 10 ft. putt. ;) Way to go Roach!!"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Sandy and Ryan joined me this morning and it was a (mostly) great time despite some truly horrific putting at times. It was a warm day too (already 80+ degrees when we arrived at the park around 11). In any case, this day was truly the day of the "close calls" because I could have walked away with 4-5 Aces today. Enough of my throws were THAT close! I brought my rainbow stamped Raider for the Hole #2 drive and it hit the most beautiful hyzer line...right into the TOP of the bottom lip! I have only aced that hole once all-time and that was nearly #2! My Neutron Matrix hit the # sign over the Hole #1 basket as well."
-7
Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "I really struggled on Hole #3 today but my Neutron Matrix hit a good enough line (too much turn but still landed 12-15 ft. to the right of the basket behind some tall weeds) to help me snag a birdie there."
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "That first round was dynamite! I felt I was really rushing so I took several deep breaths and I forced myself to slow things down. As soon as I did that, I started to execute my throws better. I darn near had a perfect round too (darn you Hole #5!) My Megasoft Shield hit a straight line and came SO close to fading enough to sneak its way into the Hole #6 basket. It hit the top of the bottom lip but just wouldn't climb over it for the Ace!"
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Not a bad way to finish things off. I had an absolutely wonderful second round going until my awful Sword drive on #8 (that disc turned SO much today...after being so perfect last night). My Megasoft Shield hit a smooth hyzer line on Hole #7 and came SO close to the Ace (it even hit some chains which is usually an automatic Ace since it sticks/sits so well). Who knows how I might have approached #8 hit I aced #7..?"

Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "TGIF!! :) I enjoyed most of this beautiful Friday evening tossing discs at baskets and it was a blast like always! I brought my Trace of Hearts, Musket, and Bengals Resistor discs and they all hit strong hyzer lines which was both helpful...and not so helpful. I also brought my Gatekeeper mid-range disc and, since it wants to turn so badly when I throw it, I have started to throw it on a slight hyzer line. The results are quite positive so far!"
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Remember what I just said about throwing my Gatekeeper on a slight hyzer line? Well, I did that on Hole #6 and my Gatekeeper hit a super smooth line right into the chains for the Ace! I definitely like what I am seeing so far! ;) I just wish that the rest of the round could have been better (my putt to save par on #5 literally went THROUGH the chains...that happened twice tonight!)"
-8
Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "My overall play has been more erratic than I would like lately. While my drives are pretty consistent, my putting is all over the place! I am hitting the bottom lip, the top band, the # sign on top of the basket, and all sorts of other stuff not involving a simple MADE putt. Hopefully, I can clean that up before the upcoming Flying Pig tournament!"
-8
Matthew Hull 19 - Regular tees, 9 holes "It was nice to finally put together a solid round of disc golf this evening! I played an odd number of rounds tonight so this was the one solo round for recording purposes. My Sword was unbelievably consistent on Hole #8 as it settled right by the basket on numerous occasions (my closest throw came to within 2-3 ft. of the basket). The wind was not really much of a factor which made my drives on Hole #8 hit the simple S-curve line (versus hitting the turn and not fading back which happens often in the wind)."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "A super mediocre round followed by another superb -8 round! Basically, my first round quickly became an "experimental" round (which is what I do when I pile up the pars and don't have a realistic chance to do anything special) while my second round was another combination of Matrix and Gatekeeper drives. My Megasoft Shield continues to hit the super straight line on Hole #6 (narrowly missed the Ace on a few occasions)."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "It was nice to at least finish the evening with a sweet -7 round. Overall, I played well but I don't like how erratic/inconsistent I can be at times. Plenty of work to do but it was still a good time. My right ankle held up well too (tweaked it at the very end of my rounds a few days ago on a hole near the Hole #9 basket) which is certainly encouraging!"

Matthew Hull 21 - Regular tees, 9 holes "Unbelievable!! I literally drove to Reserves Park during my lunch break today and almost immediately, I found my Neutron Matrix on the left side of the fairway on Hole #3 WAY shorter than I thought the throw went! It was lodged between a couple of branches on one of the mini-trees there and I was SO happy to see it! So happy in fact that I threw a quick round and darn near aced Hole #1 with my first throw of any kind! It hit a beautiful line and nailed the bottom lip of the basket! With that one disc, I played all nine holes and actually had a superb round going before I made a few silly mistakes on #6 and 9. It was a fun lunch break for sure and I would wind up returning after work today for a few more rounds!"
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Ha, ha, ha!! What a crazy surreal 24 hours this has been! I lost my Neutron Matrix in the twilight yesterday, found the disc during lunch today, and then ACED Hole #4 with it for my first ever Ace with that disc!!! Despite the wind being a real factor (blew towards the southeast) I threw my Neutron Matrix on the nearly 200 ft. Hole #4 and it simply hit the most perfect straight line before fading ever so slightly into the chains. It was surreal and felt great! Hole #4 has truly become the "Rite of Passage" hole for my discs with so many of them finding their first ever Ace (my 20 year old Teebird included) on that hole. Funny enough though, the "Ace-less" round of this duo of rounds wound up being my better overall round (threw the Falcon Servo a lot during that first round)."

Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees 2x, 18 holes "Yes...playing at Reserves Park is an illness of the highest order my friend. There is just something about finishing a crazy busy day at work and being able to look forward to some classic Ace hunting. It is a sickness for sure but what can I say? I came into the evening with 60 Aces for the year and, being only 10 Aces behind what I thought was an unbreakable personal record (70 Aces in 2018!), I now have an awesome goal in my sights! There's no stopping this train we are on my friend. Well...except for the fact that my play has been really hit and miss (mostly miss) lately! It was a little windy and my putting continues to be mostly dreadful which isn't a great sign. Still though, I was resilient which at least counts for something, right?"
