20 Holes - 20 Baskets - 20 Diamond Dust Tee Pads - RE-ESTABLISHED in 2013 as a 20 hole course with NEW Chainstar baskets. The 9 of the original 18 holes all saw some changes and now the remaining 11 holes are a completely new layout for the 20 hole Old Airport disc golf course located 3 blocks north of US-23, taking Court Street to Industrial Parkway, then left to the end of the turn around. At the end of Industrial Parkway then follow the dirt road to the right, just on top of the little hill for hole 1. The course is quite easy to follow with laminated paper signs on natural posts at and in between each tee, along with well cut grass, it's just easy to follow the flow of the course. The front nine holes are in and out of some beautiful pines with a combo of slightly open shots to some that are tight and require the best of your techniques. Many of the greens on these first nine are small and well protected by trees and / or limbs. After you play hole 9, you'll be in the woods until leaving after hole 19 that brings you back out into the Old Airport runway to shoot the 549' hole 20. As of August, 2014 the grass fairways have been well groomed several times and wooded hole fairways are quite clear of everything aside from the remaining stumps and toe stubs. Be careful and when playing, feel free to pick up some sticks, tossing them as far off the fairways as possible. Wooded hole trails are marked and identified by wood chips and signs. There are 3 picnics tables on the course, a well placed bench on the 160' hole 11 just to watch aces from and many natural log resting places throughout the course. Early spring is ALWAYS WET, be patient and make sure you come back if you find the course too wet in April & May. Old Airport Disc Golf Course - AuGres, Michigan has posted "NO DISC GOLF" throughout rifle deer season. Be careful players, stay clear. This land has a history of seeing hunters; if not within, often very near some of the holes. The best idea is to not play when there is a chance that a scope may be aiming somewhere near you or your disc. The Old Airport property also has a reputation of a great place for the area locals to ride their 4 wheelers and for good reason, it's a nice place to ride. As the course develops and more nad more players are there, the riders are becoming less seen and more courteous when encountering disc golfers. Play a respectful game, don't leave anything behind and promote the future of disc golf.
