Jon Tveite 57 - Main course, Regular tees, 18 holes "Second round of the day, first in Topeka. I was still throwing all right, with occasional mental errors (like a three-putt on #3), and a ridiculous try at #13, where I had two shots that may have gotten wet if the lake had not been low. Should have birdied another hole or two, especially #12, where I came up only 25' short and then face-masked the putt."

Jon Tveite 55 - Main course, Regular tees, 18 holes "Second round at Shawnee, third and best of the day. #2 was a pointless bogey, as the drive wasn't great, but my approach was abysmally off line to the left. Got the stroke back on #4 with a good drive and solid putt. Failed for a second time to get close on #5, which in its short position was wide open and the easiest hole on the course. Another lazy approach on #9 cost me a stroke, as did a sloppy flick from the pine tree short left on #11 (which ended up rolling down the hill 60'+). I dropped my Mako pretty close to the basket on #13, and should have birdied #16 & #18 as well, but just missed very makable putts."

Jon Tveite 58 - Main course, Regular tees, 18 holes "I had played this course once or twice before, years ago. It has some really nice holes, especially the ones down by the lake. First time around, I was throwing pretty well, but still not putting. The lengths of the holes put many of the baskets just a little out of my reach, but short approaches make for easy pars. On #3 I was trying too hard for distance and threw my Nuke over the road way right. #5 was just a careless putt gone wrong. #17 was in the really tough placement, down the hill into the woods, and I was too far right and short of the gap, so I tried to go over the trees, which didn't work out. Other than that, just boring pars and missed birdie opportunities."

Jon Tveite 53 - Main course, Regular tees, 18 holes "I went around a second time and played better, though I still had putting problems. My only bogey came on #4, where my Nuke hit a big tree about 40 feet up and didn't come down. Very weird -- hardwoods don't usually catch discs like that. I couldn't see mine, but I saw others up there. Aside from that, it was a steady round of easy pars, just-missed birdie putts (#s 1, 2, 9, 11, 12, 13, and the worst: 15), and a couple of birdies that were too short to miss. I could have easily been six or seven down, had I been putting slightly better. Highlight was a parked tee shot on my favorite hole: #14 along the lake. I played #17 much better, laying it out to the left and then flicking a short mid-range down the hill through the gap in the trees. As on my first round, #18 over the lake was no problem, though I wasn't really going for the pin, which was on the right."
