Johnson Road Park

Challenging course with several water hazards. The first five holes are tightly wooded and under 300 feet. Holes 6 and 7 require throws over/beside a lake. Challenging course with several water hazards. The first five holes are tightly wooded and under 300 feet. Holes 6 and 7 require throws over/beside a lake. Holes 9, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 are also over/beside the two lakes in the park. Besides the water hazards, there are several OBs on the wooded holes, including walking paths and property lines. Several houses back up to the park by the disc golf course.

The tee boxes are very large and grippy concrete except for holes 9, 15, and 17, and 18, which use parts of a concrete path around the lakes as tee boxes. These boxes can be slippery and are not level.

Each hole has two pin positions. The water holes 6, 7, 15, 16, 17, and 18 also have extreme elevation changes.

The tee signs assigning PAR for each hole were designed by Germantown Parks and Recreation and intended for beginners. In leagues and tournaments, all holes are Par 3, but some of the signs indicate par to be 4 or 5.

Johnson Road is an extremely well kept park. Adequate seating, trash cans, and water fountains. The tee boxes are absolutely perfect. Above average length and width. a few water holes that require distance. That being said, the course, as played from pars marked on signs, lacks challenge. I am a somewhat advanced amateur disc golfer. I dont throw 600', but anywhere up to 400' i am comfortable driving. There are many par 4's and 5's, allowing me to eagle most of these holes. That being said, the course, as played from pars marked on signs, lacks challenge. I am a somewhat advanced amateur disc golfer. I dont throw 600', but anywhere up to 400' i am comfortable driving. There are many par 4's and 5's, allowing me to eagle most of these holes. Its a wonderful course, but even better if you play them as par 3's.
I have shot -10, -11, -10 the past 3 times i have played the course. I generally shoot between -5 and 0 on other courses in the area. So, i feel un challenged by the course when im shooting -10 without stretching myself too much.
with the water hazards, more experienced players will be the ones to enjoy this park. but, more experienced players will also find no challenge is scoring well under par. would love to see this course set at all par 3's.
