A man selling flying golf discs — and possibly marijuana — was arrested Tuesday at a Troy park after police said they found he had drugs and a weighing scale with him.

Officers were sent to Firefighters Park, located at 1810 W. Square Lake Road, after a caller told officials a man was selling the discs and drugs out of the back of his car.

When police arrived and talked to the man — a 53-year-old Bloomfield Township resident — he confirmed that he was selling the flying golf discs.

After investigating and discovering the man had an outstanding warrant from the Oakland County Friend of the Court, police and a tracking dog searched around his vehicle.

Marijuana, narcotic paraphernalia, cash and a small scale were found inside, officials said. The Bloomfield Township man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in a park, a felony.

I didn't know that was a felony! Lets all keep our grass off the course. Sad to see an article like this written as it puts a black eye on a great course. And I'm sure the Troy Police are going to keep a better eye on Firefighters and Raintree as well.

What would everyone who plays monday nite league think or feel about a 3rd ace pool being added, since we have the super pool paying 75% and the regular ace pool at 50%, seeing that aces keep gettin hit not allowing the pools to grow what about an ace pool for another $1-2 that would pay 25% until it caps at $500(maybe $750) then if it reaches that capped amount it will have a payout of 100% until then just a 25% payout so it has a chance to grow....we would then have ace pools paying 25/50/75 and possibly 100%.....feedback?

This Sunday is the Firefighters Classic. We will have the course closed for the event. The Course is looking great thanks to Marty Borucki and a few others. Doug Watson will be at FF on Thursday during the day to begin moving Mulch around the course. We could definitely use assistance. Rakes, shovels, brooms, a pick-up, a tarp are tools of choice. If anyone goes out there to assist, please look for Doug around the bridge near fairway 18 (by the volleyball courts). Thank you...

I lost my blue Champion Sidewinder between holes 15 and 16 on Saturday if I remember correctly, I just moved to the area and I'm new to the course but I really like the course and plan on joining league play this year. This will be played as Two (2) rounds of 18 holes for only $10. Tee Off is at 1pm with registration at 12noon.
