Farmington Park is easily the best disc golf course in the Rocky Mount NC area. It has a great look, and play is challenging for all levels of disc golfer, but can be a tad strenuous on the beginner. Nice mix of holes from shorter to longer. And holes 10 and 15-17 offer some water, though none that you will have to cross over (unless the stream at 15 is flooded in which case, you will be throwing over about a 8 foot moving water way). Swampy area off to the right side of the fairway on 15 is easy to lose a disc in, as is the left side with the heavily bushy area across the small creek/ stream. Overall, this course can teach a lot of control, especially holes 1-4, 8-11, and 15-18. The others tend to be more "open-ish" holes. I love this course, and I play it as often as time and weather allows when in Rocky Mount. For another great course in town, locate and head over to Sunset Park. The 4 main disc golf courses in Rocky Mount are with-in minutes of one another. Of course there is a small open 9 hole course at Nash Community College, but that is a longer drive from any of the other 4 to it.
