18 Innova Disc Catcher baskets with mostly wooded fairways, 11 has a small clearing near the basket. Local topography makes for an interesting layout with some uphill and downhill drives. A large cliff band divides the layout into an upper nine and lower nine with 1-3 and 13-18 on the lower, and 4-12 on the upper. This is a challenging course for newcomers and a fun one for experienced players. The course is being improved and maintained by an active club which runs a Monday night league and several tournaments a year. There are now brick tee pads on 1-3, 5, 6, 10-12, and 18. Dirt pads framed with logs or lumber on 8,9 and 13-17. There is a "tourney central" area to the right of 18's basket with a picnic table and several benches. The city now keeps the gate open for the parking lot at the South Street entrance for the spring, summer and fall and there are talks about keeping it open year round. There has been substantial work done to clear and improve the fairways to facilitate play and searching for discs. Plans for the near future include more brick tee pads, better tee signs, and the ongoing task of keeping the fairways clear. The proximity of the course to U.S. Rt. 2 makes it a great recreational asset for northern central MA and neighboring NH towns.
