I am very sad in having to rewrite the review of a once iconic disc golf course. Bronte was known as a beast and was showcased in the annual DGI. I was a big fan then and played the summer league for a few years. I am absolutely shocked in the changes that have taken place. Sorry if I'm offending anyone, but It must be said. I was a big fan then and played the summer league for a few years. I am absolutely shocked in the changes that have taken place. Sorry if I'm offending anyone, but It must be said. Bronte had some brilliantly designed holes, making good use of the trees that were already on the property. Like holes 2 long, 6 long to C basket, 12, 13 long to long basket, 14 to long basket, 16 to long island basket, 17 long. The, ongoing redesigning of holes has cumulated in a choice of layouts with two sets of basket on each hole. Although, I love the fact there is choices of layouts, I'm not a fan in the mixture of design aspects throughout the course. I counted 5 island or peninsula greens and one island fairway. (island target aspect - overdone) OB lined fairways on several holes as a recreational course does not add appeal and makes disc golf hard, and not fun. (I don't mind if you're running an event) I'm the first to redesign a hole if it needs to be more challenging, but to slap OB lines on holes that are already a great hole like hole 6 will only irritate me. Next, a basket set in a large bush with little clearing makes no sense to almost anyone. (You can never throw one in the basket) Overall, I don't enjoy playing here anymore. I miss old Bronte. And that's why I am very sad.
