Having set up this course, I know it's weaknesses better than anyone. The challenge of fitting 9 holes into such a compact space left a lot to be desired, but we worked to set up holes that would be a challenge, even if they weren't super long.
Negatives: back and forth directions. First, you have to go across the bridge to play 5 before coming back to the basket then throwing back across for six. It would have been nice to get them to fit more orderly, but in order to use this space (and to have some semblance of safety in case of errant shots) the best way to throw made for an inconvenient walk. Second, as Harry mentioned 8 and 9 are parallel making you walk almost all the way back down 8 to get to 9's pad. We wanted to fit it in backwards, but it would have caused an extended walk all the way around the swamp, then back around to get to the pin after you threw. So we decided the inconvenience of an overlapping walk, was better than the inconvenience of walking around the swamp twice.
Positives: The course does reward an accurate shot. Hole six is set up for a throw across the water and uphill. A well thrown shot can end up at (or in) the basket, a poor shot could easily hit one of the guardian trees and end up wet.
This course is never going to be champion level, it was set up to create usage in a very small park, and hopefully it will do that. Go out with your putters and mids and enjoy a quick round.
