This awesome and challenging course is located in McDonough, GA in Henry County on metro Atlanta’s south side. The 18-hole course has shorter, blue tee pads on 14 holes and benches on every hole at the longer, gold tee pads. The tee signs were updated in November 2022, are at every tee pad, and now include hole maps. Don’t be surprised by the sounds of passing trains, as parts of the course are separated from the main line by a 50-100 foot wide strip of woods. This is a unique experience you are not likely to get from many other courses in the world, if any.
The Tracks at McDonough is challenging, southeastern United States woods disc golf. The course requires players to both accurately hit lines and control the end of the disc’s flight to remain in the fairways. The fairways are clear and well defined but only a few are generously wide. A variety of shots is necessary, and likely a good scramble game, to score well.
Local Directions: From Atlanta, I-75 south to exit 221, Jonesboro Road and turn left at the top of the ramp. Follow Jonesboro Rd. for about 3.25 miles. The parking lot is a gravel lot on the left just after a traffic roundabout and just before the railroad tracks. You will have to pass the entrance and cross the tracks to make an u-turn to enter the lot, as a median prevents a left-turn entry. The practice area is located at the back of the gravel lot down a small hill in a clearing. The first tee is across the practice area in the right, opposite corner from the parking lot.
The Tracks at McDonough is maintained by the Henry County Disc Golf Club in partnership with the City of McDonough. Follow Henry County Disc Golf on Facebook for course and event information.
