Morningside Park DGC in Knoxville is a very fun course. It gets a bad rep locally at times because it's not in the best part in town, and because of the amount of baskets on hills which can cause lots of rollaways. But this is a course that I really enjoy. There are multiple pin locations which is also a plus in my opinion. Concrete tee pads and discatcher baskets which is pretty common in this area. If you play this course, yes... you are going to have more than your fair share of rollaways on drives and putts, but thats part of the sport. The course has some short ace run holes and some long open holes that you can really open up on as well. Great use of the elevation in the park and just an overall fun course design. I have played this course more than a handfull of times and I definitely plan on going back many more times! I was in Knoxville with time to play only one course, and this was it. It was a good choice, as we really really enjoyed this course. This could easily be an A+ course with a few additions, as the elevation changes were incredible and the course was very well laid out. Problem included tee signs showing two baskets (long and short), where only one actually existed (sometimes the longs, sometimes the short). We had downloaded a map and so got through this pretty easily, but without a map course would be very confusing. It was very hot when we were there, and older folks with us actually had to sit out a few of the longer high elevation holes, but I made it through and it was quite a workout. Multiple signature holes throwing straight up, or down over long elevation changes. A couple tucked into the woods, and nearly every basket had a chance of a long roll away. Super fun!!!

One tee pad per hole, multiple pin locations available. Lots of elevation changes. Morningside will teach you how to be a confident putter or you will get some great practice at laying up. Local DG club keeps course updated and the city keep it mowed. Due to the neighborhood it has lots of trash that can be picked up. Very fun challenging course.

This course has some downsides. The layout is very hilly, spread out, and the holes are poorly marked and hard to find. A number of the holes were a lot of fun. But learning the holes could be very hard. I enjoyed the course, but discs rolling down hills was a concern, for a new player very intimidating.
