This is by far the most difficult course in the entire St Louis metro area. I live in STL and I regularly play all 25-30 courses in the area. This course was installed after an old golf course closed down. The local Parks and Rec department maintain the course and they keep the fairways mowed regularly. However, the maintenance crew never mows off the fairway anymore and as a result, anything not in the fairway is considered OB and you are lucky if you find your disc. All and I mean ALL rough is so incredibly thick with tall grass that you can’t see where you are stepping (no way to watch for snakes) , let alone spot your disc . You basically have to get down to the ground level to view underneath all the overgrown brush and grass. The fairways are now so small that even highly rated players will struggle to find the fairway. The tee boxes are just the fairway grass and not well marked and the distance relative to par are pro level. The baskets are all within 10-15 feet of OB and there are multiple lakes to navigate as well (hence the name sunset lakes). Once you finally get close to the basket, you’ll find nice newer Innova disc catcher baskets. Very few trees are on this course so don’t even attempt to play if the wind is over 5mph.
