I liked the variety of tee shots that felt like the right play for me. For my first time, nothing felt redundant and I was kept entertained. Thought it was a great place to practice skills whether it be straight lines, forehands, backhand hyzers, distance shots and even rollers. The tee shots are mostly forgiving so it's not the best place to put your skills to the test, but is great for a quick round if you're in the area and are still growing your game. 13, 14, 16 and 17 are nice primers for woods golf. Thought overall that the park and course were well taken care of.
I wasn't psyched about some of the overlapping holes. Seems like it could be dangerous or cause annoying waits if there was any crowd there. The rubber matts were mostly good, but a few were lumpy or too slick from rain earlier in the day to use confidently. I was glad to have a guide who lives in the area as a few hole transitions weren't super clear and I was confused on which basket to throw to a few times. Some signage with hole maps and distances would be helpful.
At 35 minutes away, it's a little far for me to frequent, but I do see myself returning once or twice a year to mix things up. I would like to come with my father-in-law and brother-in-law who don't play as frequently as I do and are still expanding their skillset.
