There are great courses in Colorado and seems like new ones popping up every day, Bear Mountain is not new, but is clearly setting the bar for the "disc golf experience". I was 40 minutes into my drive from Denver when I got to the end of the dirt road and sure enough there was the automatic gate I was told about. I punched in the code and as the big metal gate seemed to say "come on in", I couldnt help but think I was seeing a mirage. I will never forget that first drive up to the house nor will you, disc golf royalty and I am here. This course has countless variations all the while exposing you to views second to none.
Bear Mountain has some great elevation changes and requires every shot in your bag, but gives you oppertunities with risk. Signage is plentiful and seating for us older players is everywhere. heavily wooded to wideopen, up down and everything in between. Teepads are natural, manicured and multiple for most holes.
All of this makes a (B+) maybe (A-) course so why do I give it an (A+), All the extras. Dan and Michelle own the course, designed the course and run the day to day operations with absolute genuine kindness. A true disc golf destination Bear Mountain is minutes away from several other mountain courses that will test your arm and patience, camping and other activites are available. For the best all around Colorado disc golf experience this is the place. Thank you Dan and Michelle for letting us play in your oasis.
