This course offers some of everything. Elevation, water, open areas and tight alleys, dog legs, guarded baskets etc.. Great track! Extremely well manicured, no trash laying around, the local throwers obviously take pride in the course. One of the few courses of the 60 I have played that has zero vandalism. Great job Opelika.
Hole twelve tee pad does face the wrong way, but given the great graphichs on the sign at the pad, it is very easy to see where the track goes.
You will need your precision game here. Tunnel shots, strategically located tres, small windows of opportunity all require technical shots. Even the red tees have some holes with distance such as a few 400' and a 600 'er.
Did not like the large jagged rocks guarding basket two, can be very rough on your plastic.
Tee pads can be a tad dangerous for long runners, as they are all set 6" above grade without feathering. Pro tee tossers must seek out Red pads to see signage. Pro tees are rubber mats, and I would think soon to be concrete with signs, given the pride locals take in the course.
Leagues are beginning on Sundaya and there are Friday doubles that started up. Be sure to play here if your in the area, you will not be disappointed.
