If this was my local park course I'd be pretty happy. Weird OBs often at random mean you really have to know the course to succeed. 3 times I had stellar shots 20-30 ft from the hole and low and behold they'd be OB. I had 5 OB penalties so the course really needs them for difficulty (and some for safety).

Alt placements look well thought out.

Mandos and some OBs add to difficulty but feel a little overdone and haphazard.

I don't like the AstroTurf tee boxes but some do.

Layout is not exactly intuitive. Great Tee signs but not always good walk out signs or next tee arrows. Got lost and frustrated a few times but luckily there were enough other players around.

$3 pay to play for a day is a little much. I'd like to get a little more bang for my buck. Pro-shop was just ok. Pro shop staff were Great.

Great use of limited space provided by parks department. With under 20 acres of usable land in one of the most popular parks in Eugene this course was designed with limits in mind. For a city course on public land it is one of the better courses under those restrictions. Fairways provide flexibility off the tee and allow the player to attack the hole in several ways. There are only a few shots on the course that REQUIRE similar shot patterns. Mostly each hole provides with a fun shot for everyone. There are multiple pin locations on the course and even some that have not been updated on the signage. These shots provide great practice lines that players will face on many other great courses. It is perfect for a quick, challenging, and educating round. This course is always growing and always improving. The personal touch of the owner and operator and the local feel of Eugene is definitely great here.

This place got points just for the way they take care of the Disc Golfers. Two practice baskets, that are surrounded by 18 different practice putt locations, multiple pin locations on each hole with beautiful signs and benches and after all that they have an actual snack shack just for the course......Sick!

A decent course in the city. A pay to play course the doesn't even offer a course map? I had a guide and they still could not tell me which pin location holes were in. I wish they a had 1 location per hole, and have locals vita on alt. pin locations. Several holes would have have 4 pin locations all in line. Why? Put 1 behind a tree. Anyway ok course, go to dexter instead.

It's got some issues however, and that's why I rated it the way I did. It has a lot of same shot feel to it with the occasional tunnel shot. No garbage cans, Also the multiple pin positions are stupid!! No point having A,B,C,D when 3 of them are the exact same, I'm all for multiple pins but bad variety here. Also the ob lines are a joke, no actual lines so hard to tell what's ob, and what's not! Needs way better markings for the obs. Navigation will be bad for first time players, but look for the signs. Overall not a bad course, and has the potential of being really good, with a few changes. It's gotten better from first time I was here with marked obs it would be better

It has been along time coming! After years of work from Andrew Rich and others in the Eugene Disc Golf Club it is finally in! The course looks amazing with the sweet astro turf tee pads and well groomed fairways/greens. and it is only gonna get better. For the amount of land we were allowed to use the layout couldn't get much better. Although it is on the easy side it still provides a challenge...especially when the pins are all in there long settings. There are 4 pin locations for each hole....which adds awesome variety. The location couldn't be better for a in town course!

It's hard to complain about this course when you know how difficult is was for Andrew and the EDGC to put it in. The land that the city gave us is literally prime time, and Andrew did a fantastic job working with it to make it the most challenging and fun course it could possibly be. When playing the course you get glimpses of Autzen Stadium, the Cuthbert Amphitheater, the Peter Defazio suspension foot bridge, The Willamette River, the Eugene Bike Path, local gardens, Pre's running trail, Skinner's Butte, Spencer's Butte, and different parts of beautiful Alton Baker Park. And the pay to play aspect of it is great considering that pins will be moved once a week, the course will stay trash free, and the fairways mowed often to create the most visceral disc golf experience possible.
The tee pads are the future of tee pads in the Pac NW. It's the same turf that you would find inside Autzen and they are grippy dry or wet. There is compact gravel underneath the turf that allows water to drain straight through. A few of them need to be flattened out a tad more is the only complaint I can think of. Wood chips have been spread through much of the park which also adds to the aesthetic of the course. All of this debris came from the course itself through all the hard work that volunteers had done to clean the course up. As the leaves on the trees re-emerge with spring, and as the course get's played on, mowed and taken care of throughout the year, ABDGC is just going to get better and better.
The course has a variety of shots but primarily focuses on low straight lines, right hand hyzers and touch shots with ob bunkers and soon to be rope to add to the challenge. It is a RHBH friendly course, but there are plenty of places that a side arm or lefty shot come into play. Especially hole 16. Each pin has 4 alternate locations to reduce on erosion. The drainage out here is incredible which is one of the reasons why this land is so optimal. It was pouring the other day and I don't think I stepped in one puddle. Open space means wind which is another challenge this land offers. Filbert trees are abundant (and really cool looking) and eat up your disc in a heartbeat. You may even find some really cool Azaleas and other plants that were planted there in the early part of the 20th century when people had houses out there.
Please be respectful to the other park users, DON'T DRINK ALCOHOl (it's a city park!), and pick up trash when you see it. Please don't vandalize our course with sharpie on benches or baskets. And please speak up when you see people breaking any of these rules. Oh yeah, have fun and shoot low!

new course is always fun ...although I know this park very well (except I only drive there with a GPS) and have very much been lookin forward to this course. however the course layout doesn't use the potential all this park has to offer and how the hell does the city let it be a "must pay $3" to play? I was quite surprised with the layout being done by a discgolfer! example: hole #3 & #4 basicly share the same fairway <unsafe> hole #7 has $ wasted on a fence behind the t-pad, #12 natural flight pattern goes strait into oncoming car traffic and shares the same fairway as #14 also it is not only hard to follow, not a good use of space but mostly unsafe for other golfers and other park users.bad t-pads, no trash cans on course, only bathroom is way off course. again I love this park but the course should have had more influence from advanced golfers. pros: good baskets, amazing park, lot of temp signage.

LOVE the new course.....We at Pac-West DGA appreciate you Andrew and Eugene disc golfers that got this course put in! Andrew Rich, an area pro, is putting in a pro shop, to include a food cart offering many food selections. This will be a pay to play course ($3 day) but well worth it! Oh and season passes are available too....just stop by and see Andrew for the info.

Cons: A little short for my liking and the pin placements are a little close. I know with the politics of the other users of this park made it difficult...but it would have been nice to see a little more difficulty and length on some holes.
