Hole-in-one prize is a Discatcher Sport basket, or it goes into the raffle if there is no hole-in-one. Support local disc golf!!

The first Ace Races were held last week, and many more are happening this weekend. here's a quote about the new disc that I saw on the PDGA message board:

"Just got our's in a little while ago. To me, feels like FLX plastic with maybe a kind of wasp bottom(not exactly, but kind of) with an added micro-bead. Then the top kind of reminds me of a Cyclone, but "midranged". Guess what I mean by that is it's got that kind of rolled or beaded top.....Anyway can't wait to see how they fly this weekend!"

A Cyclone-y Wasp? Sounds pretty good!

He is competing to get a grant from Pepsi Co. to pay for ashtrays on disc golf copurses across the country. Montiel could use Pepsi's help!

The 3rd Annual Montiel Ace Race, sponsored by the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club and Team Rizbee Productions has been scheduled for Sunday, September 12th. The event will run from 10am to 4pm. There will be no scheduled tee times - players simply need to play 36 holes of tee shots only at their own pace between 10 and 4.

$25 entry fee gets you two new prototype Discraft discs, a full-color Ultra-mini and a Discraft Ace Race hat - a $55 value in all!!! The player who ends the day with the most aces wins a new golf bag filled with Discraft golf discs. Ask Mike Allee, last year's winner, if he thinks the Ace Race is a great event!

Proceeds from the Ace Race will go towards the San Diego Aces Course Development Fund. The Course Development Fund has helped pay for the new courses at Kit Carson Park and Cal State San Marcos. Help support disc golf in San Diego County by playing in the Ace Race.
