Was in the area with family and got to steal an hour to run over and check out the world's first disc gold course! Only got to play 9 holes, but got the flavor of it. There are bins of loaner discs at Hole 1, which is awesome!

The terrain is sandy, most flat, So-Cal scrub that favors more precise, technical shots -- lots of low ceilings to contend with. Baskets were mostly pretty short (300ish) and reachable for pars and good for casual players, kids, etc. As a first-timer, the layout was a little confusing at times, especially from hole 5 onward -- there are a lot of baskets in a small area, and even with UDisc I struggled to figure out which basket I was supposed to be throwing at. That aside, it's a fun course that's well worth checking out!

I loved the challenge of the course but it had no visible markers to know where the next hole is, udisc wasn't up to date, the tee pads are old rubber mats, ankle breakers, the first 4-5 baskets are super old. With such a rich history and so many pros making their start here I'd imagine them coming back and donating funds to upgrade this historic course.

Played this course in April of 2018 (4/20). I felt really lucky to be able to play the first ever permanent disc golf course, and it didn't disappoint. Very scenic surroundings, cement pads, great baskets. A couple of the baskets way out in the scrub were not well marked, so I did have some trouble following the course at one point (and I lost a mid range, which doesn't happen all that often). Technical course, some blind throws if you don't run up and scout them. A lot of birdie holes too, first time on the course and I was easily under par. Well worth playing if you are anywhere near the LA area.

Being a Disc Golfer this is defiantly a course to play, being the first course. If you don't have great accuracy off the tee pad, this is the course to make you better. I gave this course a B simply b ... show more ›

Being a Disc Golfer this is defiantly a course to play, being the first course. If you don't have great accuracy off the tee pad, this is the course to make you better. I gave this course a B simply because if its your first time playing it, you will get lost if your not with someone who has played it before. There are no guidance stones or arrows leading you to the next tee pad. Other than that this course is on my top 10 favorite courses list.

Very technical course, not too long, but trees, wind, and sometimes locals, affecting every shot on the course. Basket placements are ridiculously well thought out. No signs make it impossible to find ur way without a guide or group in front (locals skip holes I found out). Most pads were octagonal, and there are baskets everywhere! I'm glad I can say I've played at the birfplace of this sport!! Loved the experience and the locals!!
