Pros: Course is great for beginner and experienced player alike. Has some very nice golf shots, great park, and mature trees. Fine course to learn how to play without being completely discouraged. Liked the possibilities of longer holes and making up holes as playing through. Nice baskets.
Cons: No signs = confusion. We didn't realize that there were only 8 baskets, plus a practice basket. I'd move the practices basket and make 9 individual holes. We wandered aimlessly trying to figure out which hole was 2, where hole 3 was, where 6-8 were....We pretty much just make up our own layout.
No tee pads = potential for injury. There were a few holes where the tee had tree roots through. When you are more worried about your footing, your shot suffers.
Seems like Holes 7/8 play to the same basket. Both are nice shots (well the ones we made up), just could be hazardous.
Overall: This course/park has a tremendous amount of potential and is very close to Reading. There were a lot of people on the course while we played and nothing seemed to back up. This course would greatly benefit from tee pads (recommend concrete) and signage (a must for first time visitors). The course has a great mix of straight, hyzer and anhyzer shots. Well placed mandatory, great use of mature trees and pin placement close to water. My brother and I had a blast and will definitely return. We stretched a bunch of holes out to over 400 feet just so we could air out a few throws. I think the park/course would benefit from adding at least 9 holes in the woods across from the parking lot. Think this place just needs some TLC and for Alvernia Univ. to mow the grass more often.
