I love this course! Multiple pin locations keeps it fresh for people who play here often. The poison oak has been mostly removed.The course has clean lines in the woods and elevated shots and water hazard in the back nine. Nicest course within the Salem/Keizer area. They have really worked on the upkeep and made it a true gem of the Willamette Valley!

Great mix of technical woods shots, water hazards and open fields. Drove down from Portland out of curiosity and was not disappointed. Great course, and very clean and well maintained. Only negatives ... show more ›

Great mix of technical woods shots, water hazards and open fields. Drove down from Portland out of curiosity and was not disappointed. Great course, and very clean and well maintained. Only negatives were finding the course was a bit tricky(does not share main entrance with main park, you have to drive past it), and course navigation was a bit wonky for a first timer on the first 3 holes or so, and a few on the back nine, so bring a map!

As a first time player on this course, I absolutely hated it. Most of it was that it is so hard to find the next tee pad. The only hint is a direction sign on the previous basket but there are so many trails that lead from that basket it was hard to tell which way to go. The next complaint, it didn't seem like there were any fairways at all in the woods. There was just a basket tucked away about 300' or so. All that being said, that was just the first impression. I did par all the holes in the woods and I think that regular playing the course would make it a potential favorite. My teenage son never wants to go back though. So, treat this only as a newcomer review and that another review will follow after I've played it a few times. First impressions though, not that great but there is potential. :)

Great course! The first half is very technical in the forest, then it really opens up. Even has a water crossing which is cool. I love the challenge of this course, it seems to have a little bit of everything. Usually only run into other golfers and dog walkers, which means the course is quite clean compared to some of the other courses in the area that are littered with garbage from bad humans. All holes are clearly marked, there is a map board at the entrance, and arrows on each basket point you towards the next tee pad. Make sure you do take a photo of the map though, it does make it easier to navigate the first time. This is one of my favorite local courses, you should play here for sure!

And... can we get a basket moved? #1 maybe?

I only give this course a C (passing grade). It has nice tee pads but the course in my mind is a big mess, no alt tee pad for 12 or we gave up looking after about 15 mins. It was so windy I wasn't going to try to throw it across the water. then from there we ended up getting confused on holes and 17 tee pad throws to 18, we gave up and just thought the hell with it. And won't be going back.

Very good technical course, tough and will challenge you but, tons of great shots to be had, this is also a very hiking style course, so if you don't know how to spot poison oak and don't like searching off the beaten path for discs you might not like it. I love over water shots even if I did lose a disc playing. This was a lot better than some people have stated, only thing I'd like to see is maybe a bit more general mowing but I say that mostly cause it was raining and I was soaked to the knees

This course seems to scare a lot of players away. Please do not place judgement until you give this course a go. I have a feeling you will like what you find in the forest! Rapids is my overall favorite 18 holes in the area, just for the added degree of difficulty. It's a very technical course with lots of obstacles, and the added thrill of a few holes at and a bit above 400'. The pads are concrete, Mach baskets, and beaten trails are all pluses in my book. I suppose the only "downside" would be the heavy vegetation in the fairways, though you must realize the course is in the middle of a pacific rainforest. Anyway, this course gets a solid 'A' in my book!

This is one of those "going to be a great course" someday courses. A course that's a lot like Bryant or Wilder, as it needs a lot of work all the time, to keep it from getting out of hand. I would really score higher with me if it was a little less blackberry, poison oak and scotch broom. Over all a really good layout with some tough holes.

The course has improved a lot in the last year. A lot of love has gone into it and it's showing. Thanks to everyone that's involved. Hole 1s new position is way easier in my opinion than the spot on t ... show more ›

The course has improved a lot in the last year. A lot of love has gone into it and it's showing. Thanks to everyone that's involved. Hole 1s new position is way easier in my opinion than the spot on the hill. But hole 15 just got twice as ridiculous to make up for it. I mean, cmon.....really? 3 it and you'll feel very fortunate. Tee signs are in some silly spots around the tees and no restrooms or water that I noticed but that's just getting picky. Other than that and hole 6, which has always felt silly to me, the course is playing awesome. Cement tees and a lot of fairway love go a long way. Keep up the good work!

The back 9; time to let her fly, alot longer and a couple of water shots makes for a great all around course, word is there are now tee pads! Great job CCDG, and to all the whiners about the vegetation and losing your discs, you should be able to watch your disc and have a general idea of where to look and if not, take it easy, or stopd drinking/ smoking so much lol

ground cover is ubr tall but stil playable if your buddies keep eyes on the disc. course is well established now, new concrete T-pads, trails are easy to follow, clearing around pins is done...EVEN SOME OLD HOLES MADE BETTER, ENTIRLY NEW HOLES 17~18! perfect example of how course improvements can be made. I think this course doesn't get the credit it deserves. I personaly love this course and am amazed with the improvements done here thankyou. but the signage is just plain stupid!
