Pro golfers, stay far away. Really bad course desgin. Scenery was breathtaking, but layouts leave much to be desired. Course shares the first 2 holes with a 3D archery range, so prepare to mosey around a laying elk and one ornery bager. There are some live animals too, but not for archery. Horses and goats roam freely while piles of their excraments follow suit. Tees are natural, which isnt bad as long as all the rocks would have been removed. Careful you dont trip. Tree limps need major trimming, course needs comeplete overhaul on signage. I spent a lot of my round searching for the baskets and some tee pads. Not clearly marked whatsoever. I could go on, but let's get to the basket placements. First hole is cool, but as a righty the only route to get anywhere close to the 520ft basket is a huge sky ani on the left to get over a tall line of thick trees. Hole 2 is completly blind. You're suppose to throw over trees again, but the only route now is the sky ani forehand on the right. Soo... 2 forced shots that are similarly opposite. There is absolutely no way to get anything less than a 3 on either of these holes. Moving on... the rest of the basket placements are pretty muh lefty friendly. Im not sure if they designed it thinking, "hey, lets make this course so there's not righty hyzer route." Literally... if you arent flexing a backhand, you have to throw a forehand. There is no tee shots for the righty hyzer. Three gimmies in a row are forehand, forehand, forehand. These holes are so long. I get it, big bomb is in these days, but these holes arent designed for it, unless you are ricky wysockinand throw a forehand 500 feet. One hole in particular is 475 and tucked into the woods on the right. The fairware slopes down and curves slightly right. It's be a reachable hole if the basket wasnt tucked back an additional 50 feet further to the right in the woods. Even if you're throwing forehand, theres a tree limb hanging right in front of the tee to block that line. Huge flex ani backhand is the only shot, (sound familar?). Again... holes are stupid long... even the 3 gimmie holes in a row were 300-375ft. The shortest hole on the course is 13. Basket is in the woods 250 ft and right on a 20ish foot high boulder. Want to get a birdie? Just land the disc at the base of the boulder and putt it into the clouds for 2. Really cool idea, but at this point i was so donenwith this course. Hole 15 was un-playable due to an over flow of primative campers with tents set up next to the basket. I swear they prolly were going to use it as a grill later that night. To wrap it up, i would highly reccomend that anyone who considers playing horshoe canoyon pick someplace else. I was thoroughly disapointed. It seemed like they could do much better, but i think a really pro course deaigner needs come in a make freaking sense of this place before it becomes playable. Oh, btw... it cost $11. Yeah, id take my money back and pretend the whole thing didnt happen if i could. For the record, i shot +8. Assuming every hole was rated a PAR 3.
