Played the blue tees to a longer but not the longest pin position. The owner has multiple layouts and thought I would like playing blue after mentioning some courses I played in Michigan i.e. Flip city and Mason county.
It was actually a 27 hole layout, very unique, make sure to play with a few people because some of the rough is rough! He had not had a chance to mow this year so there was knee high grass in the fields on the front 9. Back 18 are more wooded and play on the side of the hill. The owner played the front 9 with me but said the back was too much up and down for his knee so he did some cleanup and watch me shoot a few holes that he could see from his cart. He watched me to 2242233 to finish and was impressed as I could have had 23 and had a huge putt on 24 to save par. This course needs some T&L as it is just an older guy with one hand maintaining this 40 acre course. Could easily be top 5 in the state but needs a lot of cleanup and better tee pads and signs.
Navigation was difficult because none of the tees or baskets are marked with a hole number so after he played the front 9 with me I played to the wrong basket on 11. Replayed the correct one after I found that out and changed from a 4 to a 3 by playing the correct hole.
This course will kick your ass with going up and down so just remember plenty of water and to take your time and enjoy the round.
