This course gives great insight on how far Dropcho has come in the field of Course Design.
An earlier Dropcho creation, this one was only slightly less appetizing than the other 2 Dropcho courses I have played; brand new Caesar Ford outside of Xenia, Ohio & Two Mile Run Extension outside Beaver, PA.
There are tee signs on every tee but the details on the signs aren’t accurate enough to give you a good idea of where the baskets are on the wooded holes. Fortunately, most baskets as well as red next tee signs are visible from the short tees.
#4 uphill was PUNISHING. The reward for that hole are both #8 & #9 which both ask for giant downhill bomb drives which are very fulfilling.
Even the open holes had tough placement approach shots at the end.
#14 was my blowup hole taking a 6.

Small mat pads from the shorts. The pads are good but not long enough. It can fiddle w your momentum or timing off the tees.
IUP is another Dropcho course where placement is really well thought out by the course designers as to the windows to the baskets players would have to navigate properly. I feel Dropcho courses are designed specifically towards pins placed in tough locations in respect to a players placement.

Just a fantastic course! The elevation changes,uphill holes,flats,technical finesse shots,long downhill holes.This place has a lot of everything! The Lodge has hosted ten PDGA events,two State Championships and year four of League at the Lodge. Thank You IUP Student COOP,Terry Clabaugh and his maintenance crew and IDLA!
The White tees well groomed with mats,flat/elevated.Blue tees are natural,well groomed,flat/elevated. Three pin placements...A,B and C sleeves and on any given week you will throw to a randomly place targets that will excite and challenge everyone(see chart at #1 White tee sign for pin placement)! I too,like my brother,J Gary, have grown up on these lands and am extremely proud and honored to call this my home course!! DISCover US

This is probably the best course I have played. Difficult, but not frustratingly difficult. Lots of elevation changes, plenty of wooded and open shots. Definitely a good workout while playing this course. Holes 8,9, and 18 are awesome downhill open shots, a great opportunity to just let it fly. I would recommend this course to anyone.

This course located on Indiana University of Pennsylvania grounds and is situated on the old ski slope and the surrounding woods. It is well maintained, challenging with plenty of changes elevation, a workout. From the white tees to A pin the course is a beginner to intermediate level. It is basically wide open and any trees you do hit there is an 85 % chance you will be able to make par. The only exception being hole 15 a very tight and difficult par 3. The blue tees are currently being rejuvenated. From the blue tees to the B pin the course is considerably more challenging. Terry who works at the lodge does an incredible job maintaining the grounds and the course. Definitely visit this course if you are in the area.

C pins added April 2016. Hole 10 realigned to eliminate conflict with 18. Hole 1 (par 4) and Hole 16 (par 4) revised to consolidate par regardless of pin or tee location.
Bias alert I had the best time designing and installing this most beautiful course in PA! I have to consider this my home course, as the Lodge is where I learned to ski as a kid.

This Is A Beautiful Park! Definitely worth the drive from Pittsburgh. There is skiing and sled riding in the winter. So #9 & #18 might be pulled with snowfall. 2 easy par 2's ,and 3 or 4 hard par 4 ... show more ›

This Is A Beautiful Park! Definitely worth the drive from Pittsburgh. There is skiing and sled riding in the winter. So #9 & #18 might be pulled with snowfall. 2 easy par 2's ,and 3 or 4 hard par 4's. #18 is a signature 800+ ft downhill! They changed #10 , making it shorter and much more wooded. I like the old hole more. And I am Not a fan of the half tee pads on the White Tees. I play to side of them. They are not on the Blue Tees.
