Pros: First off I had Matthew Hull as my tour guide and wingman. A+ experience Disc Golfing with him!!! William Harbin Park is a fun, scenic course with moderate elevation changes on nearly every hole and some great views!

Some of the tee signs are good and make it easy to find baskets that are out of sight from the tee. There is a good mix of short, medium and long holes and the concrete tee pads are nice and big. The course is mostly open with mature trees to navigate on some holes. For a mostly open course, there are a good number of anhyzer shots which is nice to see.

There were a few holes that really stick out in my mind here. Hole 5 is a fun turnover shot with a challenging putting green. The basket on hole 6 is guarded in such a way that this unique hole that will only reward very skilled shots with a birdie.

It seems they mow the fairways and path to the next tee but let the rest of the grass grow a little more. When I was here the grass off the fairway was short but certainly not long enough to make it difficult to find discs. Hopefully that's how it's normally kept otherwise finding discs could be a problem.
Cons: About a third of the holes are completely wide open. I wish there were a few technical holes.

The course is pretty wide open, bad shots are not punished too bad and it's easy to recover for par if you have a bad tee shot.

There is virtually no shade on sunny days, I didn't see water close by I also didn't see benches if you need to rest and catch your breath ,walking the hills.

Other Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed playing this course and I loved the views from the top of the hills. With good views and high elevations often comes wind. If high winds were present, I would probably not choose to playhere.

It's an excellent course for new players through the Rec or Int division. They'll be challenged by elevation and distance, but there are still some shorts holes that will yield birdies to them.

#4 is the 800 foot hole. Course is very easy to follow. #5 by the overlook of dt Hamiltucky, Ohio. #5 need to throw it long enough to stay out left to get that approach shot. You can’t see that basket from the tee. #7 is a birdie opp. #8, if you have a mean righty hyzer, is a birdie opp. #11 need a laser to peek out to the left for another approach shot you can’t see from the tee. #13 big long downhill shot with large tree to left & 2 huge bush trees on the right. #14 is a birdie opp IF you can get enough distance on a midrange shot off of the tee.
#15 is my thumber birdie opp. #16 is a birdie opp if you stay out of the large bush trees on the right. #18 is the second longest hole on the course. Your drive must be long enough to get to the 45 degree angle in the fairway to get a clean second look.

Not an easy course. Bring your A game.

When I went to visit they had not mowed the course, which meant it was covered in 3 ft high wild grass, wide open fairways on 700ft holes that are unmowed= equals nightmare trying to find discs, I spent 5 times more time trying to find a disc than playing, the rest of the park was mowed so not sure why the DG course appeared to be so neglected

I like the course. It's similar to Woodland Mound Park. The 2 things I didn't like was that the grass was really high so it was hard to find my disc most of the time and there are a lot of hills to walk on. It was exhausting, but overall it is nice course. Most holes are short and a couple long ones.

Nostalgia is admittedly a huge reason for this high score but I do feel that Harbin Park is a top-notch course! I still remember visiting this park as a child in the 80's (before this course existed and even before there was any development on the south side of the park) and I find myself smiling every single time I play disc golf here. It is a dream for fans of a more wide open layout and it remains one of my absolute favorite courses in the spring and summer! Granted, some of the rough is REALLY rough (Hole #4 is sneaky in this regard.) but that just teaches you accuracy, right? ;) I love Hole #7 (fun 255 ft. open hole...with a huge hyzer-snatching bush perfectly placed to the right!), #14 (a really cool throw into the woods), and #16 (a super fun downhill throw and a really fun Ace opportunity). You can't go wrong with #13 either (massive downhill throw). Heck, just play the course already! ;)
