I had the opportunity to play Northwood Black from the shorts(not all holes have short tee pads) in the Ledgestone and this course ate my lunch. I was unable to get a practice round here so I played it blind. Bad idea. If I was rating this course based on my play, it would receive a failing grade but I can't do that. This immediately became one of my favorite courses even though I threw awful. I hope to get back for a chance of redemption. Definitely a professional course that I would discourage beginners from attempting. 96 out of 100.

This grade is based ONLY on my skill level. It is a fun, challenging course to get through, with lots of chances to trip, sprain, cut, fall, get muddy and then let out a roaring scream lol!
My first time out competitive on the course was at LEDGESTONE INSURANCE OPEN FLEX 2020 1 rounder: +26/ 85.
Introducing newbies to the sport at this course May end up leaving them angry an disgruntled an quitting , just being honest lol! it is sure better than playing in open pasture all day with no obstacles. Enjoyed it lots though!

Assets - Great variety of holes (both long and short), championship level course, and it is both fun and challenging.

Liabilities - Discs that are thrown out of bounds are hard to find, the course is not beginner friendly, and you have to on the watch out for poisonous plants (if you find yourself in the rough that is).

Recommended? - Yes, this is a must if you are in the area and have been playing disc golf for a little while. However, this course is not a course for new disc golf players.

What an enjoyable course! Have not played the new layout, as it was being constructed when I was there last. The first 3 holes in particular remind me of the great Northern Wisconsin courses, however, the old 9-15 were so... well... Illinois - very open. With that said, however, I am planning on moving back home to central IL, and hope to live in Morton, which would make this my new "home course". Obviously, hole 5 is very unique, as well as testing, and several of the other front 8 holes (at least) are very interesting as well. Unlike the majority of Illinois, the Peoria courses has created some real gems, this being one of the best, along with Lake Eureka and ICC. Illinois, here I come!

A+ arguably the best course in the Peoria area which has some high caliber courses new additions to course make it a bit funkier and for people who grew up playing there we understand the new holes and paths.. Was far overdue. Although I will admit 13 is a little excessive.. But home to many friendly stoners and people!!
