Originally known as the Chicagoland Disc Golf Club, the initial reason for the club's existence was so that player's driving from Chicago to a proper course in the suburbs would have other players to play with and against.

Today the club has evolved in terms of its purpose and overall identity. It now serves to provide a social and competitive environment wherein disc golfers in and around Chicago are inspired to play more and help to grow the sport. The club offers opportunities to participate in organized competitive league play, travel events, and community improvement projects.
