Also of note, this week is the last Sunday DFOK league event for the "Winter Points Season"!
For those of you who didn't remember, we play the Bag Tag & Points leagues on Wednesday nights for the spring & summer months.

sorry Rick I had a couple things come up I'm not gonna be able to make it to the meeting tonightlike I thought I was really wanting to come
No problem... we still had a good group tonight. Hopefully you can make it to the next one (which was set tonight for Thur. March 27th).
By the way, I'll post notes from tonight's meeting soon. Lots of good stuff was discussed, plus some good decisions made too.

Today's Winter Weather Warning has been downgraded to an Advisory.
However, I do not plan to "un-cancel" today's league events because of the dangerously cold temperatures. The predicted high temp. for today is 7 degrees... and the National Weather Service is saying "Wind chills will range from Negative 10 to Negative 20 degrees".
If you have strong points why today's league should be "un-canceled", please post them here ASAP.
Thank You.
Ahhh Travis, weather is relative... we would have wrote our league rules accordingly if it took place in Ames.

Go play disc golf today, while it's still safe out there!

Winter Storm Warning for Sunday = No League SUNDAY (as per official league rules). See league rules or DFOK News for more information.

It's the end of the month... Time to move some baskets... come help at Fairmont at 4:00.
Before they get frozen in place (again) by the upcoming blizzard. Thanks!
I'll be out there playing a round. If you can find me, I'll help out.
Awesome! we don't need to move them all... some were just moved for the ice bowl.
Shout out to Ian Waters, Mitchell Brenn & Josh Carroll for helping move Fairmont baskets yesterday! (sorry 6 long is still frozen solid!)

Has anyone heard anything about a 2014 Little Apple Open?
Ya, kind of. Kindy (w DD) contacted me with some questions... I really pushed for a 2 day tourney... that may not happen.
Sounds like they have a few dates in mind... could even be in mid-summer... It boils down to when DD and Smitty (the TD) can fit it into their schedule.
In other words, it sounds like their company still plans to host a 2014 Little Apple Open, but the date is still undecided.
Mitchell Frederickson February 25, 2014 at 9:02pm
Can someone please post the info for the upcoming tournament to raise money for new baskets. I think there was two or thee events? Not really sure?
Thanks!
(2). Our club has set a standard practice of scheduling meetings (in a fomal meeting enviroment) in order to spend time vetting any proposed club endevor. For example starting new leagues, building/remodelng courses, etc. Reason being, it provides everyone an oppurtunity to collaborate on big & ... more
OK, got ya. I didn't realize there were 3 clubs. Thanks Rick.

For anyone who wants to help set-up on Saturday Morning (Feb 22nd), here's the basics.
Arrive around 9:15am to help set-up some folding tables, a couple portable tents, and a few other miscellaneous items. We will need to be set-up & ready for the non-playing visitors by 10:30am. (Rev. Kev. may also need some help, however he'll highly trained LCM students by his side).
Considering we are expecting a lot of non-players at this event, the usual practice area will only be used to ...

In other words, we don't someone's first experience with disc golf to be getting smacked in the head by a putt. :-)
Rick Petrie February 20, 2014 at 11:57pm
If you head to Fairmont Park during the work day on Friday please do not park in disc golf parking lot, especially if you see large equipment working on the parking lot. Thanks.
.... there's lots of other places to park and start your round.

Disc golf is blowing up my phone, computer & schedule... and I like it!
But it's almost game time, so I'll be off the grid for a while tonight... and you'll probably like that. (Ha!)
