It’s Jive Turkey time!
We are doing it again, this is year #7!

We will be starting at 9am Saturday November 24, 2018 with sign ups beginning about 8:15/8:30am.

This is a chance for you to play one round of 18 at Cascade Gateway in a 3 Headed Monster format with 2 of your best buds!

I’m gathering items now and I’m hoping I’ll have enough for there to be a CTP/long putt on every hole. Each hole will either be an opportunity for the advanced or intermediate divisions for there to be as many winners as possible.

Cost:
$5 per person this gives you a chance to win something.
BUT if your team just wants to play for fun you are more then welcome to come. You just will not be able to win prizes.

DIVISIONS:
Intermediate and Advanced
Please be honest when forming your team and put yourself in the correct division. If need be I’ll move you if you are obviously an Advanced team and you are signing up for Intermediate. (Basic rule to follow: 2 or more Advanced level players will get you into the Advance field)


As always we will be taking non perishable food item donations for Marion-Polk County Food Share.

Hello All,

Unfortunately, they are doing work at the park this week that will make it difficult to run our weekly league at Wheatland Disc Golf Course. Due to the difficulty, I have decided to announce that we are taking a bye week for 07/12/2018. We will not play league this week and will return to Wheatland next week on 07/19/2018.

There will be no "official" Cap City league run on Thursday. But you are more than welcome to join Dallas Dubs on Thursday at the Dallas Park Disc Golf Course for Random Doubles (5:45 check-in 6 PM tee off with a $10 buy-in). That is where I will be playing on Thursday!

The City of Aumsville has a hall on Main St in Aumsville that could be rented for $20/hr. They would need to check with City Administrator if they would allow the club to monopolize one night a month. There is a $50.00 refundable deposit that they would hold until the meetings were discontinued. The Santiam Golf Course has a banquet meeting in the restaurant that could be utilized. Sounds like it would be more of a food/drink order set up rather than a fee for reservation.

Capital city disc golf club has been my home since the start of my disc golf life.. I've been a part of the club long enough to see new faces become yesterday's news.. it was before the current President even played disc golf..
Now it's a fact that every penny the club has was given to the club $1 at a time by the players who support the club. So the bottom line is.. if you don't play league rounds our tournaments then you yourself have $0 invested in the club.. the bank account the club has gets used and used often so it's safe to say if you haven't put money in in the last year and a half your current investment in the club is $0...
Where am I going with all of this?? It's simple.. I feel the need to point out the actions the club has taken..
There isn't a single player in the club that can argue my attendance with the club. Therefore I can with confidence say there hasn't been a single person to contribute more buy ins as a player than me in the last 4 years.
If things were right the Club leadership would have what's best for all players and the game of disc golf in mind with the stewardship they were given..
In my opinion It is outrageous that people who don't even play or contribute to the club decide that getting drunk at a bar and making decisions with other people's money is the most responsible choice.. to have chosen to cut off a very popular disc golf course because of your own entitlement issues with money that wasn't even yours.. is crossing the line.. You put your feelings before what's best for all.. the camp owes us nothing... Anything we have given them was a gift with no expectations.. we are not entitled to anything from Camp T.
Canceling league nights and choosing to stop all club tournaments but your own is not what's best for disc golf
Failure to have and maintain club disc stock to offer at a discount to members is sad.. it used to be stocked and available at most leagues and never did a disc cost more than $16 for members..
Dragging the club that I love and support thru the mud when you don't even play the game or buy into the events.. is nothing short of dispicable..
I support the club .. I have in the past and I will in the future.. but I also believe that if you can't handle the responsibility you have been given then you should step down... not just be absent.. I hope the club pulls itself together .. for the sake of the game .. which is what you signed up for.. it breaks my heart that it has come to this.. but it truely is how I feel..
I will continue to play.. I support the club just not the way they have been handling business.. or the poor attitudes that feel entitled..

It's a blue Mountain Hardwear backpack with a pvc frame on the inside. 14-16 discs inside. They definitely weren't targeting my car for the disc bag, so I'm not even sure where to let people know to be on the lookout. Any advice you might have on the subject would be much appreciated. So is most of you know tomorrow is 420 and some of you don't celebrate that bummer just kidding. but for the rest of us that do and are going to league at Thursday hospital league will be changing to 6 o'clock to try to accommodate for some more people who get off later and with the later days it is easier to get finished before dark. But we are having a get together at brocks house for potluck BBQ. Bring some meat and beer. Starting at 4. Eat and smoke then head to league about 530. I would like to invite all disc golfers to join us at Camp Taloali on Saturday, May 13th for a open day of play on the course to come out to see and discuss what is going on with the course these days. It will also be a celebration for my 61st birthday which is actually the 11th. Fees will be waived for the day but donations will be accepted to help further improvements to course, no work required this day. Gate will be open by 9 am and open for the day so show up when you can. Hope to see lots of folks come and join us. We have divisions based on people to show up usually just pro and am but we will also alternate playing doubles also which
Today we might do our first. You don't have to pay to play that is just for the competitive side of some of us. Four dollars is buy in which goes to hundred percent payout and one dollar for the ace pot. Look forward to expanding the local Salem area Disc golfers. We also want to give back to the Salem hospital and so soon I'll be throwing a tourney which will have buy in of like 20 and 4 used older discs. The discs will be donated to the hospital in effort to better their play and expand the disc options. Also I talked with Jeff and he said if we could give the paitience right away everytime and no vaping or smoking on property. Thank u for the time and hope to see u out there

There might be days where I have lots of work due to the rush at end of month but I will have someone cover for me. We will be doing a 18 hole layout with the second set prob being the old tees or maybe get creative with input for the second 9. There will be divisions and a ace pot. I will throw up a ctp today.
