We wanted to the Great Disc State one more reason to celebrate St Patrick’s Day tomorrow. Registration opens tomorrow for both days of The Patriot, our MDGO Feature Event which takes place on May 15th & 16th. Additionally, our Patriot Warm Up Doubles which is held on May 14th also opens for registration. Registration for all 3 events opens tomorrow at 7pm.

We will have 9 berths to the Discraft Michigan Amateur State Championships will be awarded each day. $500 added cash to the professional divisions. 150% overall payouts to amateur divisions.

We will once again be at Hunt’s Hideaway, a private course in Otisville.

This is once again a proud part of the Disc Baron Series. Disc Baron has added a ton of events on the east side of the state, being run by Black Ace Disc Golf, Barrel Aged Disc Golf, & the Motor City Chain Gang.

The Disc Baron will be providing all amateurs with online and potentially on site payouts. We thank them for their continual support and without them we may not have been able to keep running events with discs being hard to come by.

We will have Bruce’s Bad Ass BBQ on site cooking lunch for you.

The 1st 45 players registered over both days will receive a free disc courtesy of Discraft!

Sides that are all available with registration. You can add these on anytime before registration closes.

Holly Woods Disc Golf Course has over 1/2 of the upper and lower assemblies of the baskets removed. The other half will be removed first thing in the morning. This was done in accordance of the social distancing order which at many times was not be followed so the course was close me but even then people continued to play it. It will be reinstalled at the time the orders have been rescinded.

I will be running a PDGA sanctioned singles league at the Holly Woods Disc Golf Course on Sundays at 10am. It will run 8-9 weeks, be one round of 18 holes, and have cash payouts for all divisions. I will be offering 4 Divisions of play: Open, Am1, Am2, and Am3.

You don't have to be a current PDGA member to play and there are no additional fees either. You earn both PDGA player points and rated rounds.

The points leader from each division will play for a berth to the Discraft Michigan State Championships during the final week. You must have played in this division at least for 4 sessions to qualify for the berth championship.

$5 to play, $1 sanctioning fee, & optional $2 ace pool.

Here is the series standings after 3 events. You can drop your lowest score of the 4 events, assuming you have played all of the events so these could swing WILDLY come the last event. You MUST play Kings of the Course to qualify for 1 of the tops 2 spots for each division.

Having needed to play in at least 2 events to be able to qualify for playing 3 of the 4 there are only a few people that can take either 1st or 2nd. We are still looking for a limited number of spotters Friday - Sunday at the Toboggan. This is preferably an all day commitment however, if you cannot do a whole day we may be able to work you in. Because of the removal of the autumn olive on the course the number of spotters is much smaller than in years past. All spotters will be provided with a dri fit shirt, lunch, and some x out discs provided by Discraft. TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

I was able to secure through the Michigan Disc Golf Organization and via a generous donation by Discraft, for Arthur Latham Park to be expanded from a 9 hole course to a 27 hole facility. As such, we will be moving the proposed location of this event to Latham Park which should be completed towards the end of May!

This Saturday (Sept 13) Black Ace Disc Golf's Memoriam Tournament at Holly Woods. It is the final PDGA Sanctioned event at Holly Woods this season.

We will be playing the popular Jumbo 18 layout. It skips some of the easy deuce holes and adds in the extra 6 holes which leads to better round ratings.

We are raising funds for Philip Smith the brother of BADGs Travis Smith. He had been hospitalized for many weeks now due to a rare autoimmune disease. For every AM player that comes out, BADG will donate $5. We also will have some raffles and a 50/50 to help raise some money for him.

Due to popular demand, we just reordered Westside, Dynamic Discs, and Latitude 64. We hope to see you out there to have a great day it golf and to raise some money for Philip.

Every year Black Ace Disc Golf uses the Memoriam tournament to help raise funds for a worthy cause. In 2014, that tradition will remain the same. We have decided to raise funds for Phill Smith (Travis Smiths brother) who is suffering from Guillain-Barre. It is a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous system.

Black Ace Disc Golf will donated $5 for every player that attends Memoriam. In addition, we will have some raffles and a 50/50 CTP.

We hope that you can come out to compete in a disc golf tournament and raise some money for a worthy cause at the same time. The event is September 13th.

Due to the HORRIBLE course conditions at Holly Woods this event is being moved to Memorial Park in Frankenmuth. Please do not park at the dog park parking lot and enter the park off Park Street off of Genesee Street. There is plenty of parking and you will not have to walk up the big hill to get to me. I will be set up near the Basket #7.

The address is 212 Millington Road Millington 48746. The name of the park is Arthur Latham Park and Campground. It is between Irish and Fulmer Roads. It is 1000 ft from fulmer rd. Look for a red fence on north side of road.

This is VERY important if you are planning on playing in the event this Saturday. There is a Triathlon in the park this Saturday and the park road beyond the booth will be closed from 8am to 11am (this is not new, I knew this in January). As such, all participant parking for the morning will be along Tindall Road. Tindall Road is approximately 2 miles south of the intersection of Dixie Highway and Grange Hall Road. DO NOT PARK ALONG DIXIE HIGHWAY. You will get a ticket.

We are attempting to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. As such, we are looking to you the players to be the primary driving force for this. We are asking all players to bring in cash donations for this very worthwhile charity. All players that bring in cash donations will receive raffle tickets for a special raffle. All players that bring in $100 will go into a drawing for a VERY sweet package that we are putting together. We are going to be running a fund raising event this Sunday at the Silver Lake Park in the City of Fenton (off Silver Lake Parkway).

$30 will get you into the event, a custom disc for the event, into the $5 50/50, and the $5 CTP pool. All profits will go into building the permanent course at the Silver Lake Park. There will be no payouts however lots of opportunities to win some awesome prizes while raising funds for the baskets for this course.

We will be running registration from 8-9am. A 9:15am players meeting and a 9:30 tee time.

We will be playing a continuous loop of 27 holes (3 rounds of the 9 holes) in efforts to allow people to come play and still have all afternoon for Father's Day.

Radwyn has been working hard to get CTPs for all of the holes from local businesses and he is doing a great job. If anyone would like to contribute please let me know in advance so I can place the packages together. These are going to be some MEGA CTP prizes...

Speaking topics will be: Rules of the Game, Common Terms, Types of Throws, etiquette.

Hello Black Ace Fans!

I am a part of the TD Team for the 2013 DGLO. We are hoping to make this years
event to be one of the best events on the tour. To make this hope come true, we
need to combined might of the MDGO to make this happen.

At this time, I am writing about Spotting. I am going to be compiling a list of
all of the people that are volunteering to spot at DGLO. WE already have a list
of some people however, we need MORE people, to make sure that play out on the
Toboggan goes smoothly.

So, I am asking that you send a message out to your clubs/leagues and see if
anyone is interested in assisting with spotting at the event. Spotters will
receive: 1 misprint disc per hour, shirt, lunch, and water. We need spotters
for Friday-Sunday.

Some of you have already contacted me and you are on my list. I will be getting with you all later.

The first one kicks off next Wedneday, the 15th of May, at Holly Woods. $10 for all division. Open plays for cash. AM1-3 plays for plastic. Both divisions have 100% payouts.

There will be a special CTP for Black Ace Tag Holders. We only have 1 Black Ace Bag Tag remaining to be sold as well for the 2013 season!!

We are taking cashless per-registration to help with the registration process...

BADG has a 2013 tournament update. We are planning to institute an Event Ticketing Process. The following 5 events will be a part of the BADG ETP:

The Bumble Hunt 1/26
Tree Love Classic 3/23
Zombie Apolalypse 4/6
Dragon's Horde 7/21
Memoriam 9/14

At each of these events you will receive an event ticket when you register. These events tickets can been redeemed at Memoriam for a special rare, custom disc at discounted prices. For each BADG event ticket (limit of one ticket per event) redeemed a $2 discount will be applied to your final purchase price of this disc. So, a complete set of BADG tickets would be a $10 discount on this special disc. Only people with a BADG event ticket will be eligible to purchase that disc on that day.

BADG tickets are transferable so they can be traded or sold.
