Thank you to those that helped there is still a lot to do that id like to hit early spring or this winter we need to clean the bushs out on new hole 13 old 14 also hole 18 bushs. we will be doing some retaining walls and landscaping also which will have to wait till spring. all holes but 3 have long and short tees now so get out there and check it out. there is 2 holes that have mandos now. There are lots of things for disc golfers both new and old to be involved with and GRDoD is ready to encourage and offer those things for you. Joe said yes, so we WILL BE at his course next week for league play. If you are a member or would like to be, make up round cards WILL BE accepted for play at Bluegill next week. $2 per paying in member to turn in a card and have it counted for our league night. Hello all. I would really like to have a meeting in the near future. Perrin's Brews & Shoes, disc golf style, is going to be one of two items primarily discussed. The other primary discussion point is Earl W.Brewer Park. Both need involvement of people who appreciate the sport and have had involvement with the development of it. People who help run or have helped run disc golf leagues, clubs, and/or tournaments are HIGHLY recommended to attend. This might be a short notice, but the preference that I've gathered from people is going to be a Sunday night thing. Hello audience ^_^ For those of you who don't know, league is at Brewer Park on the South Course tomorrow.

On Saturday April 26, I would like to hold an open table discussion regarding Earl W. Brewer Park. I'd like to see people who are interested in helping with any aspect of the course ...maintenance(upkeep), design concerns/ideas, etc. Fundraising will be a portion of the topic discussed. This meeting will be held at 84th Street Pub and Grille.

I'm hoping to hold another meeting at Perrin Brewing Company either next week Monday or...(propose a day, please?) This meeting is regarding what we (Perrin & GRDoD) are hoping to see as the first annual Perrin Brews & Shoes. If you know someone who is involved with running a disc golf league or club, please share this post and tag them in it. There is a page needing group members who can help make this event huge....and the focus is to pull ALL clubs/leagues/disc golf groups together at this event. The proposed date is July 19. I need help to make this happen.

Please feel free to share posts from this page. It helps to get the word out on what's going on with GRDoD. Also, comments, concerns, &/or feedback is ALWAYS welcome. Things can't get better without them.

FYI: Due to Brewer's current flooded condition, the South will not be played in its entirety tomorrow evening. Holes 3-5 have a river flowing through them. With that said, please skip south 3-5 and play holes 1,7, &8 of the north. I realize there will be more walking involved, but I think it will be well worth it. Thank you all for your time. :-) Rick

Hello All. I just typed a long and well explained message of tomorrows course layout. It included all the well descripted layout of the flags (1, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18)... where the holes are being played form the walkweay and driveway. Hole 10 is NOT being played from the normal tee area, it is being played from the road near a rmarker and flag, to 11's basket. Hole 11 is being made up by playing to a never been thown at basket (personal one), out towards the volleyball net. There is a teepad on the walkway almost directly in line, marked with flags, for hole 12 to hole 12's basket (...the non-regulation height basket)... Hole 13 is altered to play from the walkway to 13's basket. It is also marked with flags. Hole 14 is played from the walkway to 14's basket... teepad marked with flags. Hole 15 will be played from the base of the hill on the walkway marked with flags. It is an extra wide tee-pad.... Hole 16 will be played from 17's teepad to 10's basket. Walk over to the walkway and look for the flags marking the tee area for 17. Throw from the walkway marked area to 17's basket. To end the 18, throw from the walkway near 18's post to 18's basket. A map to overview the course will be present at sign-in. It will also show the proposed course layout from Cascade Park Commision. See you tomorrow.

I am currently working on updates to the March Madness tournament as I have listened and read what people have had to say regarding it. I am here for you, so I am listening and trying to make things go as best as WE ALL can make it. This does not just apply to this one event, but the Grand Rapids Dogs of Disc as a whole. Everyone who attends is a valued disc golfer in my books as they are devoting time to go out and do something other than ....

Anyway, with that said. March Madness is in the process of some updates so please check it out soon.

I will be at the 84th Street Pub and Grill for a Disc Golf Meeting on ...Friday the 21st of February. I have medical stuffs occuring on the 18th that I need to ensure I have enough cash to cover the deductibles for (nothing too serious). The other choice was the 17th (Monday), but if I go to the pub, I will probably spend too much $$.

I need people that know, love(like), and support the great game/sport of disc golf to provide me input. It helps to make things better. The first tournament scheduled has been put on the scene (Ice Bowl 2014). The next one that will get placed on the DGScene website will be March Madness slated for 3/1. I (RM) will be attending a MDGO (Michigan Disc Golf Organization) meeting this upcoming Sunday. The meeting will be a time discuss the various disc golf club events that will occur throughout the 2014 season. It will also be a period to discuss fundraising and how each club can spread the joy of disc golf throughout their communities.

I am also in the middle of getting the Ice Bowl event fully prepared. Don't be surprised if you hear something over the radio regarding it. The Ice Bowl's main goal is to help feed the hungry... which is why our main charitable organization is going to remain Feeding America. I'm working with someone who really looks forward to these types of events, to advertise and increase sponsorship for the event. I am hoping to increase turn-out for the event by using this person's skills of community outreach. Those who are interested in possibly ordering special Ice Bowl discs must contact me (RM) as soon as possible. I will be trying to place my order within the next week. I can provide you your options once I am contacted. I apologize for not having this info made available to you at a sooner time, but there have been some technical difficulties.

I am looking for sponsors not only for the Ice Bowl, but also for 2014 events and league season. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please contact me.

Lastly, I would like to begin holding meetings to discuss what can be done to increase members of the league, how GRDoD can benefit the communities in which our members come from, and to obtain ideas on how we can make Brewer Park, Riverside Park, and possibly other local courses better places to play at.... I have seen an increase in destruction of course items over the past few years. I know we can't prevent all damage from being done, but I would greatly appreciate any help in determining ways in which our club can decrease the amount of damage and course aesthetics changes.

Thank you all for being a part of the expanding sport of disc golf. I look forward to the opportunities that will arise as being the President of the Grand Rapids Dogs of Disc.
