Hey Everyone, I am back looking for disc donations for Kenai Middle School's disc golf Mini-Courses happening May 16th and 17th. Every year, about 30-40 students enjoy the last days of school discing with me. Each kid leaves with at least one disc. We also play games where they can win more. Please look through your stash to see if anything can be sent our way. You can drop off at Kenai Middle School, under my name or text me at 715-370-0482 to arrange a drop off. This could be the last winter before disc golf takes its first step into the mainstream. There's been a couple of ESPN ace highlights in the past year. The sports network sees it as a novel, quirky highlight opportunity to keep viewers' attention, and the interest of the broader publicly may have been collectively piqued? In 2016 the mainstream sports fans will be able to take a closer look. There will be 3 new pro-tours debuting next year with strong financial backing, including a world tour and two espn broadcasts confirmed. What will they think? Will it be taken seriously?

Welcome to the 6th Annual Jailhouse Roc Tournament!

- When: July 18th, 2015.

- Where: Peter’s Creek Disc Golf Course.

- Time:
9:00-9:45 - Registration
9:45-10:00 - Player’s Meeting
10:15 - Shotgun Start

- Format: 2 rounds of 18 with approximately an hour break in between.

- Divisions: Juniors, Intermediate, Masters, Women, Advanced, and Open.

- Cost: $60 for Open, $40 for Advanced and $25 for Juniors. Current PDGA members get a $10 discount!

- Commemorative Event Disc to the first 50 participants to sign up.

- Misc: Ace Fund, Putting Ladder and Ring of Fire putting games.

- Friday Night Dubs: July 17th at 6:15 pm. $5 entry fee.

Thursday Throwdown at Hilltop
a PDGA Sanctioned weekly league

Thursdays, July 5 to August 9, 2012, 6pm sign ups until 6:30pm start time.
$5 per person (includes PDGA fees & Hilltop greens fee) ***non-PDGA members are welcome and encouraged too!

This is a PDGA Sanctioned weekly singles league, played by division on Thursdays at Hilltop Ski Area DGC.
Offering Open, Adv, Int, Rec & Wms divisions, no minimum # of players needed for division!
PDGA Sanctioned means current PDGA members will get round ratings for these rounds! You will also get PDGA C-tier points (which helps with World Championships invites, etc!). There will be weekly payouts by division, overall league awards at the end of the series, and some other random prizes each week (2's on 10 or 14? Amazing shots? Metal? fun stuff, whatev!) There will be a $50 ace pot.

Hilltop is playing great right now, freshly mowed and lots of bear sightings! :) What a great warm up for the 2nd Annual King of the Hill tournament in August!

Last year Oscar Mills was in close contact with the group that was organizing the course effort, so he may be a good contact for anyone that is interested. The last plan had the course starting on the trails entrance that are accessed from Kalifornsky Beach Rd (I believe the entrance is right across from either the Rodeo area or Softball fields. They were originally planning on 19 holes for the course so TDs can mix and match the holes for different tourney looks. The course has a great amount of potential, with some work there and at North Peninsula Rec the Kenai area could have two great courses. Good luck guys.

Hello all, this Friday, the 15th will be the first evening of preparing the Tsalteshi trails for a new disc golf course. There will be folks cutting down trees and clearing grounds for tee pads. Please bring work gloves and boots. More hands will make this project quicker! The work party will start at 5:00 pm. This work party is sponsored by the River City Rotaract. If you have any question you can give them a call or message me. I am not certain if this is going to be an 9 or 18 hole layout. There is certainly plenty of room out there for 18. Please spread the word and help put the first steps into a new disc golf course on the Kenai Peninsula! The Tsalteshi Trails are the trail that run behind Skyview High School off the Sterling Highway south of Soldotna. Thanks again!

Get back with me and or James with your ideas. Sooned is definitly better than later. Proper planning is important in putting on a quality event..or so I believe.
