I want to remind everyone about the new league that is starting at Lenora. If this league is a success we can possibly start one at Alexander as well. If you have time look into it a bit more and try to free up your schedule. LET'S HELP CHOP OUT!!!

Once again its Thursday night at 5:30 and the cost is $20 a season. Sign up for as many seasons as you can. I will be out at Alexander tomorrow before doubles and have signup sheets for those that don't want to sign up on line. We are still finalizing a kickoff event and the seasonal award.

We have permission for new pin placements at both parks. With the County supplying augers and the GDGO supplying the sleeves and cement we will have County/GDGO Volunteer Work Days this spring. Thanks for your pin placement suggestions, and please keep them coming for both parks.

Mikey has finished preparing the distance markers (thank you Mikey!), so we are moving up the installation to Saturday Feb. 20th. Could everyone be there with shovels in hand at 9 am?

Eric Horn is replacing Ross Evans as head of maintenance at Alexander

New small brooms are currently being distributed to tee pads at both parks, with larger brooms on order. The County plans to wire the large brooms to the posts to deter theft.

Boy Scouts will be cleaning up the brush/limbs/vines at Alexander very soon.

The Retired Seabee Volunteers are going to attend to all landscaping/erosion problems at Alexander this spring/summer. The block in front of 5 will soon be removed. At least 12 new drains will be installed.

We can plant bushes and trees at both parks if we supply the plants and labor, but they must be on the Approved list on the Master Plan; this list has been requested.

One elevated basket per park is feasible, with the County providing machinery (if needed) and the GDGO providing the supplies. Let's take our time designing these, so they will be a pleasure to the eye and a challenge to the arm.

" The GDGO has voted to install distance markers at the Alexander Practice Basket. We will have 4 spiral arms coming out marking 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 feet. We're looking at an April 10 install, and I'd like to know if Team Alexander players could each bring a shovel that Saturday, arrive 30 minutes or so before doubles begin and help us install the prepared stepping stones in pre-marked locations. With so many people it should be a snap!"

This was sent to me by Vicki Jacob today. I think we can all help out and make Alexander even better then it is!

A big THANK YOU to all 70 players for making my first TD experience a great one!

and the whole GDGO board jumped right in and helped with the scoring as well as the side action, and cooking near the HOT grill for us all. If I missed people I'm very sorry. I wanted to congratulate all players that chose AAAII as there first tourney to play in. Let's talk a bit more about some fun results shall we.......let's see CTP hit were, hole 8 Justin Dickerson, hole 10 Scott Hazlett, hole 13 Charles Eldridge, and the GDGO sponsored CTP hole 1 Brian Grundleger. Now on the the Accuracy Event, it was a nice 170' approach Mike Curtis, Al Hause, Cody Britton, and Nathan Garner. Putting event was pretty fun and we had a pretty good putt off but in the end Keith Johnson was the victor. Keith Johnson also ACED hole 7, so we all know now he has both the long game and the short game. :D Last but not least the BIG ARM EVENT and the winner is........Matt Versola with a 585' Aerial Armada super bomb!

All of the scores will be posted soon Gerrit will be posting them with his fancy shot analysis and stuff. :mrgreen:

Once again disc golf rocks and we are all part of it. I had a great time and I can't wait till my next chance to TD another tourney!

Once again I want to mention that Team Alexander will be sponsoring a hole at The Gwinnett Open. If anyone would like to donate some dollars to this sponsorship this would be great. You can send me a message and i will try to meet up with you to get your donation. All people that donate money will be in a CTP pool and play for a full color sponsorship disc any any extra money that we raise will be added as well. We will be able to have a TEAM ALEXANDER sign at both course, that will help our Saturday morning dubs grow even bigger!

just thought I would post this for some people that did not get the heads up that they are recording this live. our GA boy Brad Hammock is playing some great disc, I believe Matt Dollar is about +11 after 2 rounds(yesterday was rough).
